The lights in my house dim when any major appliance turns on...

The lights in my house dim when any major appliance turns on (dishwasher, washing machine, etc.).  How do I fix this?

you need to have your service check you may need to up size your service ,check and see if the service wire is the correct size and have the neutral tightened

The dimming is caused by voltage being lowered at the fixture by the voltage drop along the wiring that includes the large appliance being started.  If light fixtures dim everywhere in the house have the service/feed checked by an electrician.
If it only causes dimming at one fixture the problem is located within the house and again should be checked by an electrician.  A loose connection can cause the problem but needs to be located . A possible fire hazard may be present.
