To Dimension9: there is a sizing chart at vanityfairlingerie.com (search thru 'the right fit') that converts hip inches to female panty sizing. If it's available, try using the U-Scan option at a local department store, preferably between 7-9am.
If its a big store, they will have several aisles of the self checkout machines, and you should be able to distance yourself from anyone else in that area. After you build up your courage, go to the department stores at the mall, where they have an even larger selection of panties to choose from. Go early in the morning or late evening, and if you are in luck, they will have older women working the panty counter. I have never had a bad experience with older women helping me in my panty purchases. I have had a few young women sales associates help me buy panties, most were intrigued at what this male would pick out to wear in panties. Only once did I get an eye roll from a very young gal (she did more talking with her other young female associate than she did working her counter) and I blew her immaturity off and didn't let it bother me. Department stores have excellent bargains on their clearance racks, 50% off or more on returned panties, etc. these racks can be a gold mine, and they keep me coming back to these stores just to check the clearances.
Panties are amazing easy to keep clean, I'm limited to white and nude (tan), blue and black (an agreement I have with my wife, she will wear the pastels, thank you). Unfortunately since the fabrics are thin (hence the word 'sheer') and if you are wearing any of the lighter colors, any accidental body 'marks' can be easily seen on the outside, so beware walking around the house in them (beware on burrito night). I just spray 'shout' fabric cleaner on the affected area, and throw them in the wash. I have clean panties all the time, thanks to shout.
What style panty depends on your taste, and your BODY physique. I have a gut and prefer full cut briefs, as they easily go over my gut to provide a 'hold' on it. Full size briefs also prevent my levis from leaving a red track on my waist where the beltline is. The jeans just slide on that slippery fabric instead of digging into me, I just love this big panties for that relief. Bali Skimp Skamps are tops, they are well constructed, snug your entire abdomen in silkiness and resist stretching. They also come in a variety of colors......most of which I can't wear......schucks. I also buy panties that fit under my gut for when I'm feeling a bit saucy. Low rise bikini panties in microfiber work best for me particulary Vassarette panties from Walmart. I haven't had much luck with boyshorts as they just want to slide off me, I had panty thongs too, but I don't wear them for aesthetic reasons (my gut).
Dimension9, you will find that, unlike men's underwear, womens underwear come and go like the seasons. Say you find a style and color of panty you like and buy a few pair. They generally won't be around 6 months later and you will have to search for new panties. Vanity Fair and Bali have a few panty lines that are made year after year, Skimp Skamps being one of them, but generally, if you find a style, cut or color of panty you like, buy lots of it while its available.
Also, Sizing VARIES between the panty manufacturers! I wear a size 8 in full cut briefs from Bali, I found that I fit in a size 6 in Vanity Fair's Nuveau lace full cut briefs (Vanity Fair's size 8 is way to big for me). So, some experimental purchases are necessary to get a 'feel' for a particular manufacturers style of sizing. I say pick 2 panty manufacturers and keep your purchases within that realm, that way you know their sizing habits and are familiar with their product offerings. Nothing bums you out more than purchasing cute panties that look like they will fit you, then find out later that they just won't co-operate with your body.
I like women's cotton panties, as they are very STRETCHY and are THIN, they allow you to breathe down below, which is a very good feeling on hot days. My preference is Hanes Her Way hi-cut briefs, which you can purchase 3 to a pack and are usually pretty cheap to buy. You can buy multi pastel color packs or my favorite, just black.
That's all I have to offer, I haven't ordered anything online yet. Why pay for shipping when I have no problems going to the store to buy panties, hopefully at a discout too.
I will repeat what others have said:
Don't steal panties, no one likes a thief. Get mature on your desire and buy your own or get someone to legitimately get you some of your own. Tell your woman about your desire to wear panties, secrets are emotional time bombs for women! See if she will accomodate you and if you value her, stay within the parameters she has given you!
It is great when a woman validates your desire to wear panties, don't abuse that.
