Lights unexpectantly turn off in my newly constructed home. They are not he same lights all the time, the problem seems to be sporadic and effecting only one or a few at a time. When the lights turn off, the wall switches don't work either, ie they won't turn back on. They seem to work fine the next day or a few hours later. Whats going on?

it's possible that the lights could be thermally protected. This will cause the light to cut out when it gets too hot.when it cools down below the thermal protection level the light will come back on as long as the switch is still on.This is usually a problem when their is very limited air space around the light.
