I have a 3 yr old husky and I leave her in a bedroom during the day, when weather is bad. Otherwise I she is outside on the lead. She will jump a 4 ft fence so she has to be tied up but she has her doghouse to lay on or to go into.  i have used a crate for her also, so it is really your choice and depends on the dogs behavior. They are hare to house break and sometimes will still go in the house when allowed to roam the whole house. My dog is friendly with other dogs, she comes on strong and other dogs are intimidated(even Doberman)but she has never gotten in a fight or bitten. If my dog gets loose she is gone in 1.3 seconds and I have to get in the car to chase her down. Hope this helps

I have Two huskie Male and female.  they will both run and i mean run fast and far..  If only my male dog gets lose then he will return if i call for him.  They love being included in family things. they sleep with us usely on there dog beds. when we are gone they stay in there cage. they wine and make noise.  they eat a small amount. they love to pull. when around other dogs they do well with. my female is affraid normally and the male is outgoing.  My female dog just had pups and she was aggressive towards strangers. She bit me once when she just had her pups. she barely broke skin and then went to the back of her cage like she was introuble.  they love too eat (paper towels and plastic wrappers). they DIG alot..  I tried leaving my female lose in the house. bad idea. tried a child gate she tried digging under it. :( carpet was shredded.

other then one time they have never bit anyone.  This was my past 2yr experience with huskies

I have a three year old Siberian male and he is absolutely the best dog I've ever had!!  He gets along well with all types of dog and children alike.  They are a lot of work though.  He needs daily exercise or he will being to destroy anything in his path!!  If this dog already knows tricks, you've gotten lucky because they are very stubborn dogs and are frustrating to train. Personally, you'll probably love this dog and be happy that it jumped into your truck.  But beware, it will run at any possible chance it gets, not because it wants to leave you, but because it is in their nature to do.  Watch for warning signs, stealing food from the counter, and excessive digging (hard to tell because the do it A LOT).

SIBERIANS WERE BRED TO RUN...YOU CAN'T STOP THIS NO MATTER HOW MUCH TRAINING...EVENTUALLY THEY DO TAKE OFF!!!NEVER LET OFF LEASH!  A BORED SIBERIAN(BECAUSE  INNATELY IT YEARNS TO RUN) IS A DISTRUCTIVE SIBERIAN....AS IN ANY BREED!!!  FOR IT'S SAFETY (GETTING INTO SOMETHING IT SHOULDN'T) AND FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR HOUSE....INVEST IN A PLASTIC KENNEL FOR INSIDE....KEEP THE DOG WELL EXERCISED...CHEW TOYS..AND LOVE......SIBERIANS ARE INNATELY PACK DOGS AND FRIENDLY BY NATURE THEY USUALLY GET ALONG WITH ANY OTHER BREED...BUT AS WITH ALL DOGS...IT WIDELY DEPENDS ON THE WAY THE DOG WAS BROUGHT UP...AND POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE EXPOSURE TO OTHER DOGS.....I HAVE FOUR SIBES.....THEY HAVE TAUGHT ME MUCH!!!
HOPE THIS HELPS

Hello guys. I'm Emmanuel. I just received a 3 year old female Siberian Husky 2 days ago from a friend. It's fixed: unable to make babies. For some reason it doesn't want to eat. It drinks alot of water. It's very friendly to the neighborhood kids and adults. It's not trained to sit or anything like that: I'm wondering if any of you can give me some tips and advice into training it. It bit me once today....but that's because I was trying to touch its food. When I walk it, I try to run it...but it doesn't want to. And it slept in my room twice already, without being on a leash. It seemed pretty safe, but I"m very concerned ever since it bit me whether or not i should let it sleep again. Someone pleeeeeeease help me and give me some advice on training it and what not. My e-mail is brooklynprince4eva@verizon.net
