There is a reason there is an age limit. I had mine done 4 years ago. The procedure though done by a body piercing shop still hurt, there was no deadening, just pinching and then the needle. I am most concerned about the individual that is having this performed at home. Make sure there is sterilization of all equipment and the area being pierced, or you may run the risk of a very serious infection. Infection can also occur even after the piercing, make sure to keep the area clean and dry, and refrain from changing your original ring for at least 2 months to allow the area to completely heal. Best of luck and member it kinda hurts, I can best describe it like getting stitches without pain killers.

well let me tell you this i have lots of friends who are younger then me and have their belly button pierced and i'm15. I have tried and tried since 7th grade to talk my parents into letting me get my belly button pierced. I'm going into 10th grade and they still say no. It really makes me mad cause my parents think it's because i want to be like everyone else and thats not why...or they think it's some fricken sexual thing..I hate the way they think cause i really want it done...But some ways you maybe able to talk them into it looking up peoples opinions online and have your parents read them...just go to google.com and type in a question like "should parents let their children pierce their belly buttons?" yeah another way is only bring up the subject once in awhile or when their drunk lol j/k but don't bug them or they will say no...maybe you can use reverse physchology and ask them why they say no? whats so bad about it? tell them you have earned to have it done and show them you are responsible enough to have it done..This may work for you! Also people say it hurts but i'veseen my friends get it done and it looks worse then it feels...just take your mom dad bf or your best friend and you'll be okay! good luck and i hope everyone the best of luck if you need more advice on anything i'mhere just email me at physcochick_04@hotmail.com

hi in the u.k u only hav 2 be 14 or even 13 in some places. im getting mine done on christmas eve, and when i booked it she showed me the bars and told me what it was like. she said u can hardly feel it cause they put freezing spray on so its numb. im 13 and ive got an outie and she CAN pierce it 4 me. and unlike other piercers who say u hav 2 hav a true piercin if u hav got an outie (a true piercin is were the bar goes thru the bottom of the sticky out button thng and it is apparantly connected 2 ur liver and if it gets infected it can be serios) she said dat she can put it in the same place as innies hav just a bit futher at the edge. so im really glad cus i really wanted it dun. from clare,13,u.k

How old do you have to be to get your navel pierced in Wisconsin without a parent with you? And what kind of questions should you ask to the piercer before they start?

In wisconsin or anywhere in the United States you have to 16, but to be on the safe side you have to be 18. If I were you I would just have a parent take me because its hurts really bad. I'm 14 and i desperately wanted to get my belly button pierced but i found out its not safe to get it before your 16 because it will leave a scar so my advice is to wait until your 16.. thats what I'm doing.

I'm 13 and I'm going to get my belly button pierced WITH MY PARENTS and they said thats fine.. so i guess you can be as young as 13 to get it done ONLY with you PARENTS!!

Im getting my navel pierced (again) tomorrow. Wooooo! My mom is coming with me.Im 14 and I have 7 piercings and 4g's in my lobes.A navel will not hurt that bad. It just feels like you grabbed a thorn bush.

I'm 14 about to turn 15 in Jan. and I went to get my belly pierced a week before Christmas but the people there told me that i should wait until I'm 16. I know people that got their's pierced when they were like 12 or 13 so i mean why did the age have to go up now and i don't even think there was a limit at first. They said that you might change during the years you might get bigger or smaller and it would be better to wait and see!

theres no age limit if u go with an aldult because i have got mine done and im 12 and i dosent hurt u carnet feel it because they numb ure belly button

hey this is 2 Baby_j 2007 look, you don't have your belly pierced right? WEll don't go aroung SCARING people and telling them that it hurts realy bad. oh unless you are phsycic! woooooooooo!!! coz peepl i have mine done, it didn't hurt me, but i had mine numbed. in da UK u have to be 16 but if you go to the core in chatham pentagon u only have to be 12! thats were i had mine done. (BUT I THINK THAT YOU HAVE TO HAVE A PARENT WITH YOU!)

I'm thirteen and my mom says I can get my navel done. I wrote an essay for her that said why I wanted it done,I knew about the risks and I would clean it every day.I haven't gotten it done yet but I'm going in a few days. Hope this helped a little. :)

in the uk you are legally allowed to get your belly button pierced at 16. I'm turning 16 in a month so am getting mine done with or without parent's permission :D lol. I think it can cost anything between �25-40. Go to www.bodyworks.co.uk for a list of prices for piercings' in one store in the uk-that should give you some idea. Katie xx

well first of all i have my navel pierced and i am 14, i did it behind my parents back and trust me its definitely NOT the way to go, and before you do that think of the person that is doing it, they can be arrested and fired or sued if your parents decide to press charges! but getting it pierced definitely doesn't hurt! i was so expecting it to be excruciating, and was so scared but it is pinching so hard that you cant feel it at all!

my parents will let me get my navel pierced in a few weeks but i don't know if i am to fat or not an am 12 and i am just over 11 stone will i be to fat my mum said i am not much over weight coz i am canny tall do i need to loose a lot of waight? i need to know coz i cant loose to much or my suit for a wedding in 4 weeks will be to big HELP?
