I worked for a cockapoo breeder and have not heard of this before.  But there is one person I know that should be able to answer this for you.  She has more years in breeding than anyone else in the business I know. She is very informative and honest.  Her name is Lucille Bailey of Birdwalk Farms.  Go to Cockapoos.com and you will find her with the NCRA

I've owned two cockapoos in my lifetime and have never heard of cushings and still don't know what it is.  My dogs lived to be quite old (17 and 18, respectively)never had health problems, never shed and never, never lacked for love or attention.

My 14 year old cockapoo was diagnosed with Cushing's disease.  The vet said that he had never treated a dog that old, but thought we should try.  She came through the treatment successfully then went on a maintainence dose of Lysodren along with some prednisolone.  She lived another year and a half and was in good health for such an old lady!  She died of causes unrelated to the Cushings.

My cocker spaniel had Cushings and I was told that the breed had a predisposition for the illness. She died as we just couldn't stabilize with medication. However, I have a friend with a cockapoo afflicted with it and for over a year has done very well with medication.
