Go to you local library or bookstore, and find a book on training. Expert Obedience Training for Dogs by Winifred Strickland is a really good one, even if you don't plan to get to competition levels.

I would like to train my 16-week old cocker spaniel.  He is VERY playful with my 4 kids and loves to run around.  i was wondering if they get fed more than 3 times a day since he is always licking the bottom of the bowl when i enter the kitchen.  Well anyway he is already papertrained witch is amazing for such a young age and he is georgous as hell.
