What sort of work did the Royal Australian Engineers and 17 Construction do during the Vietnam War?

As a serving member in 1969 the squadron was responsible for many and varied plant tasks from road and airfield construction,quarrying, fire support base earthworks, well boring, operation of the "team", 8 caterpillar D8 Bulldozers heavily armourplated to carry out land clearing of the thick jungle to deny the viet cong cover to carry out guerilla warfare against the local population and our troops.The armour plating was necessary to offer some protection to the sappers from mines set off by the tracks of the dozers during these operations.
