How would you pierce your own navel with household items?

if you didnt like the idea of possible tetanus infections (and as a result, huge frickin needles in places you would rather not have them) and other random bacteriological infections (including flesh-eating disease), you wouldnt even be considering it. odds are you are trying to do this because you are too young to go to a professional piercing/tattoo parlor without your parents (and they wont let you), or you are old enough and you parents wont let you, or you cant afford to have it done professionally (or you're just too damn cheap to pay for it). in any case, dont do it. if you do it yourself, you may not have a navel to speak of by the time its all done and over with. hell, you might even wind up dead as a result. think about it.

yall are wierd to do it with safety pins ive never tried that but i just might ive always used a 14 gage needle from my moms work(shes a nurse) my mom actualy let me and i think you should go for it go for it its a beautiful peace of artwork on your body and it exspresses your self but ive done mine 7 times and 4 times i just took it out afraid that my mom would see it then she said it was ok so i did it one more and i didnt put enough skin so i took it out but then the last 3 times my belly button rejected it because i was allergic to the metal in the ring so make sure your not allergic to the metal and also you can just num it with ice or not num it i never nummed muine but once and it hurt worse after i nummed it and got the ring through well good luck

now why the hell would you sick people pierce yourselves with safety pins? I tripple pierced my left ear and pierced my left cartalidge. It doesn't hurt...... it's actually fun. I did my 2 friends' cartilidges too. I suggest having a friend u trust do it for u. Mine was a little crooked but totally cool. go for it. here's how i did my cartilidge: 1) use rubbing alchohol to sterilize a 14 kt gold stud. MAKE SURE IT'S 14 KT!!!!! IF IT IS NICKLE OR CHEAPO MEATAL, IT WILL GET INFECTED AND HURT LIKE HELL!!!! 2) numb the area with ice. it takes about 5 minutes. wait untill it doesn't feel cold anymore. 3) use hydrogen peroxide to sterilize your ear and wash your hands with antibacterial handsoap 4) use a nail file to sharpen the tip of the earing. 5) if you are piercing yourself, do this in front of a mirror. decide where you want your lovely piercing to be. 6) have a towel ready because usually it WILL BLEED. if you are afraid of blood than dont do it because mine bleed a hella lot. 7) take the stud and push it through the spot you chose. Put the back on the stud. 8) clean up all blood and use hydrogen peroxide to clean the area. 9) dab neosporin on the area and keep all hair products, hair, dirt, makeup etc. away from area. well...... that's what you have to do. i did it and it worked. oh, and every morning and every night clean it with hydrogen peroxide to keep away infection. if you keep it clean, it won't get infected. keep the stud in for 8 weeks. after 8 weeks you can change it, but only wear 14 kt. jewlery for a year, and wear an earring at all times. If you were not supposed to do this and you are only 13 like me and your parents are major freakoids, then..... good luck! my mom found out this morning. she saw it and i tried to say it was magnetic but she checked the back and started screaming. i was forced to take it out, and now i am gonna do my belly button. i need to research and stuff though. if you have any tips, email me at rockrocksmyworld@hotmail.com write belly button in the subject box. man i cant wait to be 18..........

Well at this moment in time I have some pins, a belly bar and ice on my bed. I'm going to get a safety pin now to see if it's easier to pierce with one of them. I've boiled and sterilized all the tools I'm using. I hope it turns out good. My mum and dad wont be please if they find out..But hey, hopefully they wont, and who acres, it's my body. They cant get hold of me and make me take it out. I have a lief to. But I'm not influencing any one who is reading this to go ahead, its best to make sure your "rents" are cool before you go ahead with it. If you just want to get it done cos it looks cool and you don't give a damn, hey go ahead. Just make sure everything is sterile and your at less risk of infection :D

Hey!!! well I've done my belly button 2 times. The second time was a complete success!! What is wrong with every body piercing their belly button with a saftey pin!!???? if you do it with that your not going to be able to get the belly bar through, because it is not the gauge. You have to have a 16 or 14 gauge needle. (Like a huge iv needle). If you have a ant or a parent that works at the hospital tell them to pick you up a needle. here are some tips that i hope help >>>I find that it is much better to do it from top to bottom, because if your doin it your self you cant really see what angle your doing it from when your piercing fron the bottom. so if you do it from the bottom chances are if it does ok, it will be a slanted piercing. >>even though your needle is supposed to be sterille wipe it off with alcohol prep pad. >>wash your hands VERY good before you handle the needle. The smallest germs can cause the biggest infections. >>once you have your needle aimed at a stright angle, push it through as hard as you can. That skin is tough!! >>the first part will probably hurt when you first start to push it through, but after it is through the top layer of skin you will just feel uncomfortable pressure. >>when you get to the end you will probably feel the same sting you got when you began to pierce the top layer >>when you see the bottom of the needle rub a little neosporen or vasseline around the top of the needle then push the needle up and down to get your neosporen of vasseline in the hole >>then take the top ball off of the belly bar and rub a little bit of your ointment onto the bar >>as you ease the needle out ease your bar up behined it. >>hopefully by the time you have the needle out the belly bar will be in. >>screw the ball on the bar and your done!!!! >>DONT CLEAN WITH ALCHOL OF PROXIDE IT WILL DRY OUT YOUR PIERCING AND CAUSE IT TO MIGRATE AND ALWAYS USE GOOD METAL TO PIERCE WITH!! >>WHEN CLEANING I RECOMEND BACTINE AND/OR NEOSPOREN Thanks for your time Lauren Howell Yonurse1@wmconnect.com

Ok here's the thing. If you want your ears done in any place at all without your rents knowing i suggest you go to claire's...only about 20$ per piercing and they don't have to kno and it'll come out straight. As for the bellybutton, I tried once with a sewing needle and then with a safety pin but all efforts failed. The pain was unbearable, but i did not however try with an ice cube...maybe soon i will to it that way. is it possible to put in a normal earring for the moment, and the switch it with a belly ring? I'm 14, but I wanna get it done before im 16...some time in between. Like many, my rents are not ok with it. I have an idea of how to hide it...and thanks to a lot of people in this forum, i have really good an new ideas....a really useful one i found was to use fishing wire. its see thru and will keep the hole open. about the piercing retainers: is there a place in the VA-MD-DC area that sells them? I wouldn't be so sure their not visible tho...but ill check on a site. Good luck everybody. Ellie

Hey everyone. A word of advise. OK... First if u REALLY really want a navel piercing, ask your parents first. if they say yes go for it. otherwise if they say no, and u are extremely desperate to get one, go ahead do it. But before piercing yourself...think, "What am i doing to myself." otherwise if this is REALLY what u want..go for it. Instructions: 1. Do this at night! 2. get a cup of ice, rubber gloves, ear cleaner, thick safety pin,Sharpie/Pen,Alcohol swabs, and a belly ring. 3. Place safety pin over flame for 3 seconds. Let it cool and make sure all of the soot is off. Take an alcohol swab and clean area around desired piercing. wash your hands and put on gloves. Lay down on your bed or floor. Get 1 or 2 ice cubes and if u have an outie, place on navel and if innie place one cube inside the navel and one on the outside. Keep Cubes on for 35 min. keep replacing the cubes if melting. 4. Once the cubes have stop melting at a rapid rate and u cannot feel cold anymore... 5. Get your Sharpie or pen and place a spot where u would like to pierce. 5. Put ice on for 5-10 more min. 6. After completely numbed place pin point on the marked spot. Start pushing through. Twist the needle every so once in a while when having trouble. 7. Once the Needle is through keep in for a full 2 min. keep twisting in full motion for the 2 min. 8. Once the 2 min. are up, carefully pull out the safety pin. 9. Place belly ring inside. Allow at least 2 Months of healing and clean everyday and night. Enjoy!

um hey guys i'vebeen reading all ur stuff and i think u r all totally nuts! don't do any of it yourselves and if ur only 14 wut the hell do u need a tongue-ring for? professionals use clean equipment(even if u sterilize your needle its not as clean as thier never-been-used one) and know where to piece so as not to pierce a vein or crooked or not enough skin! and if your parents dont let u and u do it anyway- they will find out- trust me ur not as slick as u think u are! and whoever posted the thing about using the needles for their brothers and dogs shots isnt too bright because ummmm hello can we say infections? obviously not! get a brain ppl! dont get one if ur not supposed to- and if u are allowed get it done professionally~it's just a piercing and if u want it REALLY REALLY bad then tough~u will just have to wait! better to be safe than sorry!

hey everyone...i pierced my ear...and no...it didnt hurt...but i do like pain sooo. but hears wat i did: 1)put it on ice..until when ever it numb...kinda poke it and make sure you can feel anything 2)take a pen or a sharpie and put a make where you want your hole 3)take a safety pin...STARALIZE IT!....with fire and wipe it off with rubbing alcohol after 4)take an orange(yes i know), and go to a mirror 5)put the orange behind where you want your hole...and push the needle through straight! 6)mine didnt bleed after the needle was in...and yes...my skin poped when i pushed the needle(safety pin actually) through my ear 7) after the needle was through i took the orange off and let the needle sit in there for about a minute or two....you dont want to wait too long or else it will defrost 8)take the needle out...clean it and put a staralized stud in it...put the backing on 9)just keep it in for about 6 weeks...clean it...mine didnt get infected and im alergic to metal -->this method works great honestly...and the orange is only there so the needle doesnt go through the side of your head good luck...have fun!

you all are idiots. you shouldnt use any needles that arent hollow and beveled. safety pins and such will cause lots of scar tissue. and piercing your own tongue is bad too. because you dont know where your nerves are and your veins. doing it your ways can cause serious infections, and yes infections are highly possible! and if your parents dont want you to have this you should respect their desicions and not be so rude towards them by doing it yourself. your parents have reasons and if you dont like that you just gotta deal with it. heres a link to a website about piercing that will answer all your questions as well (beware though, some of the stuff on this page is of heavy mods and you might be disgusted,so just try to look at what you want) www.bmezine.com dont be stupid go to professionals if you have permission to get pierced. if you dont have permission than dont do it yourself!

Hi Everyone, I am a 14 y.o. Guy and Ive done my bellybutton about 3 times and I didnt do it properly I just sort of pierced just under the skin so there was little or no blood and just out a stud it. The third time I did which was 2 days ago I did it and thought it was correct but today it ripped out and I found out that I didnt do it properly I used a sewing neddle witch I boiled in hot water and dipped in listerine (mouthwash) lol and also boiled the stud and cleaned the area and numed the area I was gonna pierce with ice and there you go but I did it wrong! It ripped out today and is all red and bumpy and it better not scar! It is a bit irriatating now I am cleaning it with sterilising alcohol or somthin like that, I think I will go to the shops and buy a barbell for my bellybutton and try to do it myself on emore time or if I have the money I will go to a proffesional I think I might go now to peirce my ear.

Hey, look: I'm 16 years old and I pierced my own belly button about 6 months ago. DO NOT USE A SAFETY PIN!! If you use a safety pin you are gonna have a hell of a time trying to get a regular guage belly button ring in that tiny hole. OK?? So if you can buy a 14 guage piercing needle (its hollow and crescent shaped at the end....really sharp too) then thats your best bet. There is this online store called Geo's Tatshack (www.everything-jersey.com/tatshack) that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! You can order with a money order if you dont have a credit card. The products they sell are top quality and pretty cheap (you can get a piercing needle for about $2.50). Don't waste your time buying your belly button rings from there though cuz you can get them cheaper if you just go to a store and buy them. They sell all the stuff you need to make sure all your stuff is sterile. Their service is really prompt too. Plus its worth it to make sure you have all the right tools and everything is sterile before you go putting holes in your body that are gonna be there forever, right?? But back to this whole piercing yourself thing...Yea its gonna hurt a little bit more than if you were to get it done professionally but if you dont have any major issues with pain then GO FOR IT! Make sure you keep up with the aftercare too. Trust me cleaning it twice a day will really pay off down the road. wud up every body! So most of yall on here want 2 peirce yo belly? well I had mine since I was 13. Im now 16 and I peirced my own. Its not hard or easy u just gotta pay attention to what u doin. Dont use a small azz safety pin, get one thatz for a babys pamper about 12'' gauge. Make shure itz not rusty. Then you get some rubbing alcohol, ice and I know it sounds funny but get some oragel. Also get a barbell ring from a tatto store(theres no age limit 2 buy 1).This helps it heal and prevents puss infections. Put the pin in a cup in tha freeza for about 10 min,then take it out. Before anythin else WASH YOR HANDS WELL! Then wash belly wit soap and water,dry and apply ice for 20 sec.After that,apply oragel to help numb the belly spot more.When it feel its numbest wipe off and apply alcohol in circular motion. Mark were you will peirce your belly & skin should be an inch, bottom to top. Finally hold the skin, be brave and push that sucker through. It iz done and quickly force in belly ring. It may bleed a bit but DAILY wash it with antibacterial soap like Dial or rinse with contact lense cleaner(saline solution). Leave the professional ring in for 9 months , after that u cant put what u want with it. Be careful and good luck, aghit!

well to all that dont know what there doing then dont do it! i just did my toung and it turned out ausome!! But the thing is ,is im in a foster home so the parents had a fit but i still have it in!!! Cool hay i used a safty pin and mouth wash. it dont hurt at all just be CARE FULL and heres why: 1.your could mess up your tast buds 2.you could parlize your face 3.you could do cerious damage to your nerves! So ya if you do it then kool!! hey guys i a 13 and i pierce my nose, a second ear piaercing, and my lip 2 time, all with out ym mom and dad knowing, but my nose and lip close already, it hurts like hell when u peice ur nose, well when it goes all the way in, well when you pierce ur lip it does hurt at all, i used a sewing needle, and i want o now perice my bellybutton, but my mom said no, and then she said yes, if ur dad says yes, but she is just saying that cause she knows myy dad will say no, so this sucks but hey if i hid facial percings, i can hide a bellybutton piercing, i need tips how to pierice my bb without a kit, please help me IM me at heyyxloverr ok. p.s when you pierice ur nose dont because it leaves u a mark it looks like a little mole, but its gone, aand not noticable

Just use a wall tack if you don't want to get it done professionally. Sterilize you naval and tack first. Then you can pierce it. (If you're afraid of pain, numb it with ice) After piercing it sterilize it again, this will hurt but it will help to prevent infection. Find a piece of jewelry that fits in the hole and put it in, but first making sure it is sterile as well. Every day you should remove the jewelry and clean the hole. Make sure your hands are clean first! It may or may not get infected, but as long as you use rubbing alcohol or something it will keep it from getting really infected. You shouldn't play with the ring because that it what can really cause it to get infected.

Hey I just turned 12 and my best friend has her ears,navel,tounge,and eyebrow and her navel looked really cute so when I was 11 I asked my mom if she'd let me get it done and she said yea. I got my navel pierced about 4 months ago and it doesn't hurt a bit.I really wanna get my tounge pierced too but my mom will probably make me wait.I'm willing to wait another year.People on here said if you're planning on having kids not to do it, but now you can but navel rings for when you're pregnant so your hole will still be able to grow. i peirced almost every part of my body at least once. the navel hurts worse then any other part of your body. i peirced my navel about three times. I want to get it done now and leave it in.I have everything for it. I am 19 so i can get it done proffesionally but..... i'drather do it myself. i just wanted to say that useing a safty pin will never work!! I used them when i was under age. I ended up in the hospital to get the one i put in my back out. Yes i peirced my back at the bikini line. People will take this seriously and i almost ended up in a phyciatric word because they thought it was a form of self mutilation. so think about what will come of this. Think of the things people will think dont tell me that u dont care cuz in my case i didnt have a choice. People thought i was crazy. so..... your gonna do what u want i know i did and i cant tell you not to do it but peircings are not as cool as u think they are. go get a tatoo!.... Lol jk

hey guys. well i turned 14 about 2 er 3 months ago && i`ve been wantin a facial piercing since i was like 10. ma mama wouldn`t take me so i decided ta take matters into ma own hands. i pierced ma nose first off because dat seemed liked da easiest thing ta do. && it turned out GREAT. its been pierced fo about 2 weeks now && i havent had any problems what so ever. it din`t even hurt ! so ma advice ta yooh is GO FOR iT ! buh be careful && take caution. make sure your needle is VERY clean && da place yooh wish ta pierce is clean. && clean it at least 2 times a day ! i`m doing ma own tongue soon. as soon as i get ta da mall && get a rod ! i`ll letchu know how dat goes. i`m just really scared cuz i`ve heard some really bad stories about it. GOOD LUCK !

Okay people, the ones that say you are a retard for piercing it your self or what ever, they're stupid, if YOU wanna do it, do it.. i pierced my friends second holes once.. and it didn't hurt her at all.. it bled a bit but thats it.. I'vepierced my cartilage 3 times and it didn't hurt a bit.. i have also pierced my nose by myself.. i had my nose done 2 by a professionally and both times it got infected and i had to take it out, after i pierced it myself it hasn't got infected yet.. in fact i think its my best piercing.. i also have my belly button done and 5 holes in each ear.. I'm thinking about piercing my tongue myself but I'm kinda worried.. in the end i probably will though, and no fags comment on this and tell me not to do it or call me an idiot because i don't care what you think. I'm me, ill do what I want.

well if u wanna do it youself you can like buy a kit for like $10 on ebay and its all sterile and stuff... once i pierced my own ear with a sweing needle and nothing bad happened so i dunno if you would like get diseases..

Well if you want to pierce your navel.What the hell do it ,if you want to, Hey its your body.If you want to risk geting infections,diseases,or scares.Hey you can get scares,like if pierce it and then take it out and you will get a scare. I did it before ,TRUST me it real ugly.So I hope you get what I say.

i mean...i think you should jus go head and do it..its wateva..i pierced my own tongue..and trust me it game out great..i did A LOT of research though..and made all sure all my shyt was sterile..matter fact and no lie about this..my friend jus pierced her belly button less than 20 min ago..there was a lot of swelling that took on and some pussing..but yeah..go for it..express yourself lol...Good Luck!

OK i have pierced almost everything at least once all done by myself i did my belly button 3 times it looked great but just like if it were done professionally infections happen. i used a safety pin all 3 times (the first time infection occurred ant the next 2 parents weren't thrilled) and i will be doing again soon so go for it i also did my tongue twice my nipples and i had no problems with any of those and they were all done with STERILE safety pins so go for it

I've pierced my own belly button about 10 times, and if you do it carefully it probobly won't get infected.just make sure you sterilize everything first with fire or hot water!

Anyone who is going to get their belly button pierced first needs to think if they ever want kids...cuz if you do...do you want a scar that runs all the way up your stomach from the piercing? Or if you have your ring in while you are pregnant you will have a hole in your stomach when that hole stretches...but if u don't plan on having kids then whatever.

Dont do it! my friend tried it twice and it was really hard 4 her cuz it hurt like hell! u could get diseases but if thats a risk ur going to take for a stunt like this that u WILL regret for the rest of your life then i say do wut u want. unless u wear belly shirts or its the summer; its a waste of metal, time and pain lol but seriously dont do it!

i just pierced mine about a week ago and it hurt like hell. but it was worth it. it turned out great! oh and I'monly 14 so my parents would freak if they ever saw it so don't wear stuff that shows your belly if your parents are like mine. lol express yourself!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking of doing the exact same thing right now, i just wanna get all the uh excuses down first so i know what to tell my mom, and plus i don't have a ring...so thats a problem too...i guess.

um, i dunno about ur belly button, but i just double pierced my ears last night, with a sewing needle and ice and a grape. u just numb ur ears then sterilize the needle, but the grape (or sumthing that the needle can hit) and poke the needle through, it doesnt hurt at all! but does any1 have any idea what i should tell my parents, cause im only 13 and not allowed 2, any ideas?

i need help, i just pierced my belly button and my mom would kill me if she found out. But i have a doctors check up in a few days, how can i keep the belly button ring in and not have the doctor find out?????

I've pierced myself plenty of times with a sewing needle and ended up taking it out. I want to get it done professionally this time. Can someone please tell me how I can convince my mom to let me get it done. Also, can any adult sign the form for you to get pierced or does it have to be a parent? I'm only 13 and my dad says that I cant get it done. I don't understand why. All my friend's parents think its cute when people have it done, and all my friends have it too. My dad just says that when I turn 18 I can get whatever I want pierced. But I don't want to wait that long. How can I do it without my dad finding out?

i would love to be able to pierced my own tongue but i know that my parents would kill me. But don't do it 4 the wrong reasons ands thats like cause ya friends have it done or your boy friend or girlfriend told u to so just think first

I have pierced my belly button 5 times by myself and had it done by a pro. But one bad thing is that after you pierce it yourself it is scared and it hurts a lot more when you get professional after you pierce it yourself....

man infections are myth i took a air stapler and pierce my self every where and voila zero infection in fact i just keep it clean i dont usally play in mud at all so o well

Ey yeh i want to get my belly done 2...im only 14.My aunt said she will take me but i havent had a time when my mom isnt around us.I did it once by myself but the needle only went half way through so i took it out.Gimme some tips.My friend she did her ears and her lip and belly all the safety pins and it looks great.Gimme some tips though!..email me at babii_brown_eyez@hotmail.com

hey guys. Alot of you say you wanna hide it from your parents and there is such thing as a retainer for your belly button. they're clear and it looks like a belly button ring but it makes it look like there are no holes. We wanna do our own and so many people have said use a hollow needle but first sterilize it. I (Liz) tried it already but it wouldn't break the bottom skin and now it hurts and you have to do it all in one day cause if you don't it'll be bruised and hurt when you try it the second time. Thats all the advice to give ya'll for now. Our s/n's are Cookeemonster57 and Didaschic25. PeAcE oUt. P.S. We're on aol.
