My lab/doberman mix 5 month old puppy has very sensitive gums and is bleeding from the gums and teeth very easily.  The vet has given some antibiotics but isn't sure what is causing it.  I am very concerned and I can't tell if he is in pain.  Any suggestions or any idea what it might be?

Jenny,

I would seriously examine what I am feeding my dog. Food deficiencies of certain important nutrients can lead to weak gums. Is the food you are feeding nutritionally dense, and does it provide chelated minerals and antioxidants? If not contact me for some recommendations.

Change his food all together if you are feeding a commercial dog food. Try feeding him raw carrot, raw meat, cooked brown rice, apple pieces sometimes, any veg really, and raw meat.
So 1 meal might consist of chopped raw carrots, turnip and beef.
You can get wholistic dog food too if you would prefer to feed that, but raw veg etc. is a good supplement.

Look up Burns wholistic dog food for a supplier in your area.
