How do I convert an Autocad .dwg file so it can be viewed on our company Intranet without using Autocad and without losing any resolution? I converted the .dwg file to both a .gif and a .jpeg file without any luck. Neither image retained the original resolution of the .dwg file and therefore were not acceptable.

Can either Hijaak Graphics Suite or Image Pals 2 be used for this application?

From autocad you can save directly to WMF. This is viewable from any Windows/Linux machine natively.

You can't! CAD programs use vector graphics  whole formats like jpg, bmp etc. are bitmaps. Vectorbased graphics are rasterized with converting with loss of resolution. To veiw a CAD file use one ofr free viewers. But to work on it you will need the expensive stuff.

We use Adobe Acrobat 5.0 for converting Autocad drawings to .pdf drawings.  The program is called Distiller and it converts thru your print browser.  I believe that Autocad 2007 now has a program built into it, so you don't need a secondary program.
Thanks,
AF
