have you thought about rescuing one from a shelter, it would be a hell of alot cheaper and you can most certainly find just as good of a dog as if you went through a breeder.

Short answer - you can't.  At least, not legally.  APBTs are banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act.  Animal shelters don't have them, although you can get what they have termed "bull terrier mixes", which on closer inspection either turns out to be a Staffy or a Pit.

Look out for anything termed an "Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier", as these also turn out to be APBTs in the main.  Good site:  www. ad-mart.co.uk.  There are plenty Irish Staffies/regular staffies advertised here.  But please follow all the regular advice for picking puppies - don't buy from disreputable breeders who care more about money than their dogs!

I live in Liverpool and have been trying to find a breeder of the APBT for ages. Ive found a breeder now and im getting a male pup in two weeks, but unfortunately cant tell you who its off.  Theres a pet shop on L**** Lane in Wavertree where people advertise Pit`s in, under different names, go there. If ya from L`pool you'll know what road its on.  Also there are some lads who breed them in Anfield by the ground , have a drive around there, ya can see them on the street and just ask whos brreding them.  Sorted!

As glad as I am to hear that the pit is well and alive and living in Liverpool, please just remember to check out the temperaments of the parents and the pups before you buy them.  The last thing the pit bull breed needs is another people-aggressive dog running around out there!
