private key is not same as the secret key.

basicly the difference lies in the two techniques of encryption.that is
>symmetric encryption
>public key encryption

in symmetric encrpyption the sender and the reciever both share the same key to encrypt and decrypt a massage, this key is called the secret key.

in public key encrption the sender and the reciever has public and the private key.private key is know only to the person who holds it and public key is publicly know.

the differences:
1.Secret key is used in Symmetric encryption and Private key is used in public key encryption or Asymmetric Encryption.

2.Both the parties, the sender and the reciever holds the secret key.Private key is held by one of the party, each part has its own private key.
