Distance from the earth to the sun is about 93,000,000 miles. The speed of light is about 186,000 miles/second. That works out to 500 seconds, or 8 minutes, 20 seconds.

That's a very deep question and one that deserves a deep answer. Perhaps a better way to state the question for the simple mind is "What propels light?" The best answer I can give is "The light switch."

the light doesn't come from the sun, its just a myth brought down by THE MAN!!! its actually thousands of fluorescent lights thousands of miles in the sky... DAMN THE MAN!!!
