I'm 14, i got my nose pierced about 9 weeks ago .. and ill say one thing, make sure you really wanted and you can take care of it, i took care of mine just as directed and it still got "the bump" which is horribly ugly, plus i don't know about you but i like the flatter studs, and for a long time i had a huge metal ball coming out of my nose from what they pierced it with.. the nose isn't very clean so most people do have a problem with it healing ..so make sure you really want it, i know most people would take it out after all the trouble, but i figured i payed and went through with it and I'm not gonna waste it.. its healing up really nice now, but only since i took out the screw and but in a bone kinda ( i did it early but it only helped ) good luck with your piercings and yes.. your getting a needle pushed through your skin thats taking out a chunk of flesh, it is going to hurt a bit, but for the nose, i wouldn't say its bad..

hey kids, I'm a graduate of UCLA Medical School. I worked in the PSNPE, Parent Safty Net Piercing Emerg for 10 months. And this is my story: One day a girl, about 13 i would say rushed in on a strecher. Now I can't tell you exactly what happened but I can tell you this. She had her right nostrel PIERSED. Now I can tell you I've never seen anything like this. Yes, she was in pain. How much you ask? Well, just about as much as it would to get your left nostrel peirced. Well luckily I am able to tell you she lived throught the experiance and the worst her parents could do was take it out and ground her. And yes just like the other 86.59% of the population that has had their nose peirced, it healed and sealed un....noticed! thanx, daRockinDock

well i wanted my nose pierced so badly no one has any idea....well my mom was all for it except she was afraid it might leave a scar when im older and want it out...so i was shopping and saw these these nifty little rhinestones if anyone is interested in a stud...u get some glue..(they have body glue) or even nail glue...ask before u use it to make sure its ok...then dab it on the back and stick it where u want it...personally im liken this better....from all the storys ive heard about pimples and swelling and scaring i like this ALOT better...you can change it when ever and even better...no scar...and if u can get your nose pierced...hey do what ever u want..u got the power u should keep the power.. i dont think its normal to get your nose peirced with a nail but alls well that ends well. ive only heard of using a needle. anyway im getting my nose peirced this summer and im so excited. im thirteen and dont even lecture me about bin too young and not thinkin enough about it and all. my mom said i can do it only if i find out about it and think about it for a year first (i asked last summer). si im pretty well informed. and i just cant wait. so far some of the things i found out were that it doesnt hurt that much (but i dont really care bout that cause im really good with pain and even if it hurt as much as when i broke my arm clear-through i want it so bad id still do it!) and that it doesnt leave a scar most of the time and im not sure if you can take it out or not once it healed. so if you have any corrections for me or suggestions or comments or facts or anything than tell me ASAP casue times awaisting!

Hey ya'll I got my nose done on both sides, it hurt like anything but I done it. At first its just like a little pinch, then its sore for a few weeks, but its not half as bad as gettin the top of your ear done --In the cartilage-- I have my ears done three times on both sides, so I know what Im talkin about when I say, There isn't much to gettin your nose done. Clean it regularly with peroxide, not alcohol, and you'll be fine. It doesnt always leave a scar, but you may get one! I got mine ALL done with a gun, its ALOT better! It faster and hurts less, its still not outlawed in alot of places, so go for it! Bumps are VERY normal, I had them on both sides... They eventually go away! I think That 13-14 are too young to have any exotic piercings. My parents told me no when i asked them if could get my belly button pierced. So I decided i wanted my nose pierced. I did it myself with an earing and it has never been infected and im 16 now. I finally got my belly button done by a friend of mine who owns a tatto shop. my mom couldnt Belive i did it but. I got grounded for 2 weeks. Well Know I'm 16 and I have my nose done my belly button Done, my Tounge done and my eyebrow. and I have 12 holes in my ears on each side. They told me if I pierced anything or dyed my hair any coloful colors like pink blue or green, they'd kick me out. And well they didn't and i have everything pierced like i wanted. I think you should be at least 15-17 if you want to get something pierced.

I have some advice for the young ones wanting to pierce their nose. I am contemplating a nose ring myself (I'm 19) but I think it's really important to think it through for a while. Some things to consider are the fact that it will be there for life. It is central in your ace and cannot be easily hidden for job interviews, etc. If you decide later in life that it doesn't suit you anymore, then you may be left with a scar on your nose, and have many regrets. I think it is best to stick with ear piercing and navel, as you can hide these easily with your hair or shirts. Also remember that society sadly IS prejudice, and WILL judge you based on your piercing. It could hold you back from getting professional jobs, or creating good rapports with authority.

asking advice is all good and well... but... please do a google search and get some info from a reputable source. i could say the sky is green, and, if you had never seen the sky, you would have no idea that that's not true. same thing here -- i could say anything, but, since you are asking, you wouldn't know if it's misinformed or blatantly wrong. so please. do some research, you're about to stick some metal through your face. that's no small deal. especially when you're young. things to check out for yourself -- your school's policy on facial piercings, needles vs guns, healing times, what can go wrong (and take this seriously), what problems look like so you can identify them, what to do/where to go if something goes awry, what to look for in a piercist, what questions to ask your potential piercist (and don't be bashful about asking. it's your face.), what your parents think (yes. don't even not do this, it is important). google can help you out, as can your doctor and piercist.

Hey I'm 14 and thinkin bout gettin nose pierced. My mom is fine with it and my dad is still thinkin bout it. I just want the smallest nose piercing like kelly osbourne or kelly clarkson. i want it that small. but anyways here r my questions that have been asked quite a few times on here 1. If you take out the nose piercing for quite a while will it leave a noticable scar? Like if i decide when im 25 or so to finally take it out will it leave an ugly hole that some1 can notice miles away? haha 2. Do you have to clean it as long as you keep it in your nose? or after a certain amount of days of cleanin it you dont have to anymore? like your ear 3. Which is better? the gun or needle? and how long is the needle? 4. Can you sleep with your nose piercing and take a shower with it in your nose? 5. Does it matter on the thicknes of the nose on how much it hurts cuz i got a pretty thick fat nose. THX for listening!

I don't have any answers for any of u. but i really need to know whats: GOOD about getting your nose pierced. and whats: BAD about getting you nose pierced. I want to know. Wait i do have an answer. Trying to confince your parents tell them that you were thinking about getting something pierced tell them you did a lot of research and you do want to get your belly button pierced because your still growing and it wouldnt be something that would be could because your skin grows with you. and you dont know what it could do and you should take the risk because if you got it infected and you might not be able to have kids(gurls) hah. N e ways. and then be like nose is the best thing i could think of that is resonable. It works trust me

When i was 13 was when i got my belly button pierced and 7 holes in my ear..that thing gets your addicted, so when i turned 15 i got a tattoo on my lower back, but it is not straight , so becarful b4 u get one. go to a place where they are really good. also when i was 15 i got my nose pierced, now im 17 but about 6 months ago, while i was sleeping it feel out, i was waiting for it to totally close, and it is closed, but it left a dark scar. So if the holes in your ears normally get infected, i recomnend for you not to get your nose pierced, bcause if one day you want to take off, it might leave a scare on your nose for the rest of your life.! Now all i want to do, is repierce it so it will cover the scar.... just an adivice

Waz sup yall im 16 n im getin my nose periced ova da summa n if ur tryin 2 convince ur parents go to them sepretly so u get 2 diffrent reactions cuz by now u can read ur parents like a book if thay say no u cry scream n go nuttz or point out that all ur freindz r gettin therez done 2 n show them wat u r talkin bout. Ex. a lil flat stud dat u can barely see. thell eventully brake down but it might take some time. Ooo n make sure u want it cuz it takes 8 weeks n alot of cleanin n if u eva discide that u wanna take it out just know that it depends on da person it might n might not scare if it dose scare u can use bleachin cream 2 take da color away. Well I've been trying to convince my mom into letting me get it done! She was cool about it at first but then people were telling her not to let me so now she doesn't want me to! She was going to do it herself till my bro said he would disown her so she isn't now... Also some of my guy friends said it's ugly and i think it's hot but i guess their not into that sorta thing. I'm only 13 but I'm positive i want it done but it's the convincing my parents part that's tricky... But I always have years ahead of me to get it done. Oh yeah and one of the reasons my mom doesn't want me to get it done they say it looks like you have a blackhead on your nose when your not wearing your earring is that true? okay.. getting your nose pierced doesn't hurt at all. its just like someone flicking you i the nose when your least not expecting it. but it really all depends on your pain intollerence. if you can control a lot of pain, then its going to hurt A LOT. but if you can take getting a needle, then you can make it. see, i got my nose pierced, and under a week later, my nose stud almost came out, i couldn't get it back in so i let it close up. but I'm going to go and get it re-pierced because it didn't hurt as much, and i want it done again, because i love piercings and thats the only one I'm allowed with. but getting your nose pierced is a big responability to handle. You can't touch your nose at all during the day, or even play with it, unless if your hands were carefully cleaned, and your about to clean the piercing. fresh piercings tend to heal much faster if it hasnt been given enough time to heal. so its best to leave it in for about 6-9 weeks. people thinks thats pathetic, if your friends tell you to change it 2 weeks later, DONT. its stupid. dont take other peoles advise. only take your professional-piercers advise, so not listen to others. especially if they don't know anything about piercings, compared to the person that professionally pierced you nose, or whatever.

Hey everybody , im 15 , and im a piercing addidct , till now i have 6 in my ears , a nose piercing , and a belly piercing ,my belly piercing i did it when i was 12 , but my nose is new , just 14 days ago i did it , and im so scared if it will get infected , tell me please, how do i know thats its healing , and do i clean it from the inside? i used a solution for 10 days , and now i have to wash the piercing with soap twice day , I hate it :( somehow i regret my nose piercing , i wish i did my eyebrow instead , because the eyebrow stud is shown on both sides , so the cleaning wont be hard as the nosepiercing , by the way, when i pierced my nose , the next day , when i woke up ,my tummy hurt alot and i threw up two times ! i hope that its not related to the piercing. add my email if u want : cool_rap_girl_2@hotmail.com ( i know that the email is very stupid :P )

ok.....well hi everyone! I'm almost 13 and I want my nose pierced. My dad said if I wear it in his house (my parents are divorced) he will rip it out of my nose(he wont literally but he'll make me take it out). My mom said its more of a high school thing but thats why I want it now! I don't want to be part of the "in crowd" . What's the point?All that happens to you is people criticizing you and saying you won't fit in. I want to be different and I think that piercing my nose -before school starts- will help me set up my personality. I'm kind of smart so some people call me a nerd i guess but I'm not! Plus the people at my school (especially the girls) are really judge-mental so if I show up in the middle of the year (especially with my social status) with a nose piercing my social life will be even more crappy and people will think I'm just doing it to fit in but I'm not. That's also why I want it before someone else at my school gets it. So......how do I convince my mom and dad??? hey people i am 22 and i just got my nose pierced today and it's none of my business but i think that if you're that young you should wait til you're at least 16. i have two tats and a navel piercing and three holes in my ears. but to be honest with you if you get something that young just because it's a fashion right now you should wait cause if i did everything that was a fashion when i was your age then it would really be sick but if you do decide to get it done just hold off on the tongue ring cause if any of you can't stand pain you will never be able to stand the pain of getting your tongue pierced.BTW it doesn't hurt at first just when they stick the needle in but remember to breathe in through your nose and exhale through your mouth and don't forget that cause it will hurt less. and make sure you have a full stomach cause when your stomach is full you can handle pain better.cause your system is better ok well bye peeps

Well ur all asking how to convince your parents. My mom doesn't really care if I get my nose pierced but if you want to then just tell ur parents then it's nothing illegal or immoral and you wont all of a sudden become a bad person because of it. Tell ur parents that they should let you rebel in small ways instead of doing drugs and sleeping with every guy you meet. If you already do those things then u should thank your parents for not killing u instead of asking them for things but if u dont do those things then tell your parents it's not gonna change you. Hopefully u can all understand what i'm talking about, lol, sometimes I don't even understand myself, lol. My friend got her nose pierced and she said it hurt but they do it so fast so she said it hurt her more the next day. She said she got a headache from it but after that it's mostly fine, just remember to clean it.

Ok the answers to all ur questions lol... A nose piurceings takes 4-6 weeks to heal, When u get it done it is better to do it with a needle, Unless ur renst say they want a gun, but the needle with take the skin out insted of pushing the skin aside. if u take out ur nose ring it will close up, It will scar, BUT it iwll not be a big one...NOW...If yall have questions about the prople cleaning email me ur questions at jessbutts12@hotmail.com AND if u are 13 or w/e u SHOULD NOT be getting piercings....Rite now ur really Young and that crap, u have alot of time to grow up give it a few years and stuff u still wanna have funna and mess around, pierceings are very serious things...U can't mess around with them in ur body, u can't were sertan clothes depending on the pierceing, and YES THEY LEAVE SCARS, THEY HURT to sum extent and THE WHOLES CLOSE...Now guys for real think this over before u go and make wholes in ur body. hi i am 13 n wanted my nose pierced for years and now i really want it. i am aware that it will hurt but my ears really hurt because the lady didn't do it properly. she did it really slow n stopped half way through i was nearly crying and squeezed my mum really hard so i think it wont hurt as much as ears for me but it will look really pretty. i understand that you have to clean it alot and i will keep on top of that. but i'mscared if i'mallergic to it. how do i check if i'mallergic to it?y mum doesn't know weather to let me because she doesn't want it to go wrong. my mum had hers done at a young age and likes them. my mum has took hers out and you can't tell that she has had it done theres no scaring that i can see anyway and her nose looks normal. does any one know where you can get your nose done in leyland in england. i am 13 x.X.x

hello to all of you guys who are interested in getting a nose pierced or who already has it done, well as for me i just got it done two days ago, been wanting it badly since the age of 12,i even used to fake it by putting in a very small hoop ring..now i finally have it, i will tell you it is the best thing to do by researching the most you can before getting it..i do believe regardless of anything to get it done strictly by needle and get a ring not a stud preferably in a tattoo shop..now finally at the age of 22 i got my first fetish which was a nosering...looks really good, healing really good and over all if your planning on getting a professional job, i do advise you all to get it 8 months prior to your profession, due to the fact of giving it time to heal properly and when you can, you can take it out without it closing up on you..think about it..i mean really think about it. If you have recently gotten it pierced, please take good care of it as if it was your little pet, because it requires all the care it needs for it to heal very proper..good luck to all you nose piercing fetishers

Hey Guys, every one I talk to says two things... it hurts more then your ears or it hurts less then your ears... I think its up to your body and your nerves and the vary spot you get it done ( I.E if its higher or your nose or lower ) I have heard that if you get it done on the right side of your nose it helps with cramps and it makes having a baby less painful, I have no clue of this it true or not. there are two ways to get your nose pierced, with a piercing gun and a needle... If you don't like pain and you are wimpy you should think about the gun, the gun was made for your ears and it may go faster but it will leave a bigger scar... LISTEN: hi im 12 years old i have my belly button, nose, and 3 ear piercings on each ear pierced... ok well out of all of them the one that hurts the most is defenitely by far the BELLY BUTTON! getting it done on the bottom hurts the most the top not as bad but anywayz you guys if you want to get into performing arts then i suggest that you don't get your nose done because it puts some people off, like the impression like im a singer/actress and i attend regular acting workshops and classes etc but like alot have turned me down because of my piercing and they said that i have to take it out. Well i have and it's closed up and it's kind of scard! just you guyz wait until your al least in your 20's now im not being old fashioned here... it's just that first of all your not allowed a nose piercing at basically any high school/intermediate school because of the uniform code they have. Just wait! Whats the hurry! I have had numerous piercings and tattoos, and I am going to be straight forward with you, the nose is the most painful piercing. It doesn't hurt after it's done, just when it's being done. Do not let someone lie to you and tell you it doesn't hurt, because it does. If you want to get a nose piercing and your parents won't let you, you should respect their wishes. I am 24 years old and didn't get any piercings until I moved out of my parents house, I got my first tattoo at 17, with my parents approval, of course. Trust me, you can wait until you are old enough to do it without their approval. It will give you a chance to make sure you really want it, and it's not just a fad. What ever you do, do not pierce your nose with a gun. There are so many problems with piercing guns. Have it done by a piercer. They will pierce it in the right place, they are alot more cleaner, and generally know more about taking care of piercings. To those that want belly button rings: They are cute, I know. But you need to know, belly rings are the hardest to keep clean. You belly button is one of the dirtiest places on your body. They can take years to heal. When you are cleaning any piercings use dial gold antibacterial soap bars. Do not use the liquid simply because the percentage of antibacterial is higher in bars than it is in liquid soaps. And dial has no perfumes, if you are allergic to it, you can use ivory soap. Hope everyones piercings work out.==-Melissa-Jean

Hey everyone. I agree with the girls that said that you should wait until your older to get a nose piercing. I am 16 now and I asked my parents when i am 15 if I could get my nose pierced. They said I could on my 16th b-day. I still haven't got it done yet. But I will sometime or another. lol. I got my navel pierced on my 15th b-day. I am so... surprised at the parents that let their 13 and 14 year old daughters get their nvels and noses pierced! I know I am not that older than you guys... but.. when you think about it.. you are in junior high. you will be looked at differntly. -not in a good way- I like what you said Indiangirl... if your that bored... go read a book. and... everyone taked pain diffrently.. but think about it... it's not nature to have holes in your body... so.. yeah it's not gonna fell normal. it's a needle going through your flesh. So it will probally hurt. Just think it out before you go and get pierced. esspecially when your younger. You could risk having a bad reputation. if you choose too Good Luck :)

hey guys..i think it's really awesome you want your noses pierced and have gotten them done. I think it looks great on pretty much everyone and you can personalize it by putting a really cool ring or stud in. Well, the only two tips of advice i have for you all, is make sure you know the place your getting it done and that it's clean and 100% safe. Something serious could happen if not. Also make sure you don't do it yourself! i know it's great to say "haha i did it myself look" and it's so much cheaper but a pin and the apple won't work for this...ear lobes maybe but nothing else. Also don't go out of your parents will and get it done. If they disagree with the piercing there's come form of reason behind it and it shows a lack of respect towards your parents and they just won't trust you anymore.

ok, i'm only 13 to..and quite a few of you are older! but...why are you telling us not to get our noses pierced? i don't want my navel pierced and my ears are sensitive and i really don't want an earing in an inappropriate place! so the nose is my best option...and just to let you know..i completely understand where your coming from with the whole "you have to take care of it like a pet" trust me, i've learned the hard way! i got my eyebrow peirced once and i forgot to take care of it one day! and it completely messed up..so i took it out:) and i didn't want my eyebrow pierced just to let you know..my mom said if i want my nose pierced first i should try something else on my face, so she made me get my eyebrow done :S:S so i'm glad that i had to take it out..but..well..its our lives and if we want a nose pierce we'll get one:)

ohkay. for everyone people that said that the parents of the girl that got her nose done was wrong. keep your opinions to your self. thanks. but im 15 and i have a twin. we're both getting our nose's periced. we finally got our parents to say yes [theyre separated]. it was hard. they would rather us get our tounges peirced [i think its trashy] we both had $2,500 braces so i argued with them [calmly] about how it would ruin my teeth. so they agreed with our nose peircings. hehe. yesss. but for the girls who dont know how to talk to their parents. just tell them that it's something that you really want and youve thought it through a lot. and for the strict dads. tell them that YOU, YOURSELF have decided that you want to express your individuality. if you dont know how to tell them you want it. show them a Kelly Clarkson video && be like. dude, that is SO cute dont you think.

My friend got her belly button pierced a couple days ago. I asked her on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest how much getting your navel pierced hurt. She told me it was a 2, it barely hurt. Like: If I am good for a whole month - Do as I am told right away, no talking back, feeding the dog when I'msuppose to . . etc. Can i get it pierced? Your showing them that you can be responsible and that you will continue that behavior. I made that deal with my parents and I am working on it. Its easy as this, i think theres a reason for piercing and tattoos only being allowed without parental permission after u get your 18 (at least here in europe)...im 19 and i have 6 tattoos and 6 piercings, 2 (nipples) 4 (ears) and my trully and sincere opinion u should wait a bit longer before u decide to do whatever u want. If you do a nose piercing and u are lucky enought that when u decide a nose piercing is boring and u take off and your nose heals, well, your just playing with luck, cause if doesnt heals...u ll have for life an extra whole, and thats not very nice! same as tattoos...i got my first one when i was 13...today im like...wht the f?...so think, and think hard...cause your life will reflect in how u dress and what u wear...its a shame, but its the truth! if your thinking to be a lawyer...well i would love to have a lawyer with tattos...but i dont think the judge is going the same way as me! sometimes is good to be a little calculist...

Hey guys, I was just searching for images and info re: nose piercing and came across this page. I just wanted to say that I'm 23 and I've been waiting to get my nose pierced for about 6 or 7 years now. Me being a bridesmaid at my sisters wedding, following by a relationship with someone who didn't like the idea, has meant that I haven't done it yet, and I'm really glad I've waited this long. I know now that I definately want it, and when I get it I'll be really pleased with it. They DO leave a scar though unless you take them out before they've healed. You'll always have a hole in your nose. If you're that young THINK before you do it. Maybe just set a time limit of 6 months on it, then you'll know for sure if you really want it. And make sure they do it with a needle NOT a gun as a gun tears the cartlidge and it won't heal as well. Mostly... wait... and then enjoy :)

OK well I am 32 yrs old and got my nose pierced once when I was 29. I took it out because of the pain and not being able to wash my face as I would like (Around the nose part) So anyway I took it out and I still have a small scar. so the answer is "YES" you WILL have an indent of where it was if you take it out. I have since got it done again but in the other side and have had it in for about 8 months now. I really like it but it is irritating when washing your face..or worse yet--drying your face with a towel. You have to be carefull and you ALWAYS know its there. It does look very cool though but its a big decision. You do not have to wear a hoop at first. That is incorrect. Hope this helps answer some of the questions on here. I am sorry, but 14 is too young, no matter how mature. A lot about how you think your appearance ought to be changes as you get a little older and start to think a lot more seriously about your future. Your friends will like it, adults will not. My mom does (she would have let me get it done before my 18th bday, but I wanted to wait), but my aunt and favorite teacher both said they think it looks like a pimple. Once it heals, I plan on putting something a little more sparkling and a lot less dull. However much I love my nose piercing, does anyone know how much of a scar it leaves behind when I decide to take it out for good? How long does it take to heal? I'm definately 20 and got my nose piereced last month- with a stud, not a ring. It didn't hurt (just pinched a little) and was sore for a few days but I changed it out after a week. BUT, please make sure both of your parents agree to it and I reccomend being in college. If you're under 18 you're too young to be making decisions like that. Who, at 13, needs a hole in their nose? (I was 13 before I got my EARS pierced.) Even in college you sometimes don't even know what you want. Think about it, research it, get permission and wait until you're more mature. I do not regret mine at all, but yes, going into the professional world I will have to take it out sometimes. Just realize that jumping into this as a kid/teen is ridiculous!

do not do the following 1. pick at or pull at the scab this can cause lumps to form, and can couse infection 2.dont remove the jewlery in the percing till it is healed , pullin it out and in can delay the healing and couse infection and or lumps 3. dont replase the jewrlery with a sleeper during the healling phase , as they have tiny hinges that tear the inside of the wound and can couse inflamation of the lumps. silver sleepers are espashaly dangerus as they oxides in the wound causing "Argyri" a permanent black mark that forms on your nose from were the percing is and or was. that can also caouse a allergis reactions 4.dont remove the jewlery from thepercing for more than 1 day in the first 6 mounths , or htey percings will close 5. dont apply make up , cleansers , sun lotion , ect., directly on the persing if you are to use hair spry cover the percing with your hand to prevent the germs from interin gthe nastreal 6.dont use alcahole , tea tree oil , methylated spirts , or betadine to clean the percing. as they are all harmfull to the tissuse and from that they can form dangerus sars in th tishue. and can coua lumps to form

hey. im 14, and both my parents are cool about getting my nose peirced. in fact im getting it done today for my birthday, ive done research and it's said that the needles used in the parlors are laser cut so they are much sharper than regular needles and are made to cause the least amount of pain to the piercee. the needles used aren't forced through the skin they actually cut a little hole unlike regular needles, so dont ever pierce yourself. good luck with convincing your parents, but if they say no, dont push it. there's always a reason. remember to think long and hard before considering a piercing and never get one if you arent comfortable in the parlor. pee.ess.-i live in Iowa too =] Im gettn mine done in Cedar Falls

I know what you guys mean. I'm not sure if it will leave a scar, and I don't know how fast it heals. But I do know that there is no right or wrong age to have it done. If you are mature and can handle the responsibility of getting it done, you should be able to get it done. I know several people who have gotten their nose pierced, and they said it is a painless procedure which has no immediate effects, except that your eyes water. Anyways, I really don't know how you can convince your parents. Just act mature and bring about all your points. Jot things down if it helps. Once they see you know about it and you are responsibility, they may change their minds. If they don't .. I don't know what else would work. All I know is that whining usually doesn't work :P

All right, here are a few short points: -> When receiving a nose piercing, always, always use a needle instead of a gun. It is less likely to scar or jar delicate tissue, and will heal more easily should you decide to remove it. -> Opt for a nose ring in lieu of a barbell/stud - once again, it will speed the healing process both when the area is first pierced, and should you take it out. -> Thoroughly research aftercare a.k.a. cleaning techniques and solutions you may have to use to disinfect and protect the area during the initial healing time. -> Even if your nose piercing seems healed before the standard time is up, do not attempt to remove the ring, etc. until the recommended time has elapsed, and as always continue thoroughly cleaning the area. Overall, nose piercings are relatively safe (compared to the risks of mouth piercings) and heal well, with little or no scarring once you decide to permanently remove the ring. If you feel comfortable, go ahead, and try it - even if you're not satisfied, you can easily let your piercing heal without the standard piercing dangers. Hope this cleared a few things up!

well punk rocker if you really wanna get your nose done badly you should casually bring it up with your father. "Dad, what would you approve of me getting a nose piercing" he will probably scream saying no. but just say "it was just an idea, could i maybe get it when im older?" and he might say yes, or maybe and ask him how much older, maybe ask him for your next birthday. it all really depends what your father is like, see my father is a pushover and lets me do anything, so he doesnt really care i asked him and hes like "Ya ok whatever" and gave like $20 :) you cant exactly ask someone what to say to your father if we dont know them i dont want to get you into trouble by telling you to say the wrong thing.

Getting your nose pierced is not bad...But Please wait and take your time on your decision when your older you may not want it as bad. It is better to wait and make sure that this is really what you want. I am 20 almost 21 and I just got mine done. I waited because I wanted all the facts and wanted to be sure. Have you and your parents go into a local studio and discuss the options look at the piercing tools....Take your time when your young you don't need to get those piercings right away. Get your cartilage pierced and if you can handle that in time get your nose pierced. And always respect your parents afterall you have to listen to them until your of age...Believe it or not you can also learn a thing or two from them

wow why is everyone so young??? I didn't get my nose pierced until I was 18, 19 now, because I went to a liberal arts school and felt like i was the only one without any sort of body art aside from my ears. I have 4 cartilage piercings and getting my nose done didn't't't hurt as much as they did. The only thing about the nose is that it hurts immediately and then its fleeting, with your cartilage it just hurts for a while and still, after 4 years, when i sleep on them they hurt sometimes. okay well good luck, and make sure they use a needle and NOT a gun, a gun CANT be sanitized so you take a risk of getting deadly blood infections. Also swelling and pain are reduced in most people when you use a needle. er and make sure the needle was in a package and not soaking in liquid. -just make sure to clean it and be careful about the type of jewelry you get, if you have sensitive skin you gotta get gold and not surgical steel. Okay have fun!

hay guys i'vedone my research on nose piercings so i might be able to help: 1.does it hurt? Try Pinching your nose a couple of times then times the pain by 3-4. To overcome the pain during the piercing try getting your parents or friends(whoever is with you)and get them to take the pain off your mind. get them to ask you questions about your favourite hobbies or movies ETC..i know it sounds gay but it really helps:D 2.Does it heal or Scar? Yes it does heal if you take care of it by cleaning it twice a day with disinfectant. it wont'tscar if you take good care of it and make sure to take it out or put a bandaid over it when playing sport so it doesnt get knocked around and so it doesnt get infected. 3. Gun or Needle? i'mgoing to leave the choice up to you because there are goods and bads about both devices. First of all the Gun is less painful, but it isnt very accurate with aiming, also it is not sterile but like i said the pain will be quite weak. with a needle it is more sterile but it obviously hurts a bit more. it is a bit more accurate than a gun and like i said it hurts a little bit more but take my advice about getting a parent/friend to have a conversation with you during the peircing...well hope this helps and good luck!!!

Let me see now... I'm getting ym nose pierced this weekened and am wandering how to care for it, and what to do if it get's infected and stuff like that. (Really the basis of care for one) Also, it bothers me a bit that 13 and 14 year olds are planning to pierce their nose! I've been thinking about one for a few years, since I was 12 (debating between naval and nose) There were times where I doubted wanting a piercing. Really think it through first! I'm turning 17 next month, so it's a sort of birthday gift to myself, my mother made me wait since I was 15 when I was sure I wanted one. So wait atleast a year or so, make sure you want to 'mutilate' your body before going out and doing it! ^_^

Look, getting a piercing in your nose will obviously hurt for a while. I had a few people ask me, "did it hurt?" And my response was, "no, it felt nice." Obviously it's going to hurt, your nose is a very sensitive part of your body, especially since it's connected to your face. When I first got it, my whole cheek hurt for a day, and every time I sneezed or yawned (your nose flares), it hurt. Eventually it will go away. Personally, I think having it done with a needle was less painful (at first), but it was way more expensive. For reasons I won't explain, my nose got infected, and I closed it up. Recently I got my nose pierced with a gun...and well when I got it, it was a shock and it hurt much more then the needle. About persuading your parents? Well you'll have to show them you're responsible enough to get your nose pierced. You have to clean it (I clean it three times a day with hydrogen peroxide), and make sure it doesn't get infected.

ok ppl let me tell u all someting always get peirced by a proffesnal, instead of doing ur peircing by ur self. make sure that they use aneedle and that they use Autoclave to steralize the needles. make sure that they are using surical needles. also make sure that u ask them to show u records of the latest sutoclave steralization test. make sure that they steralize the room u go in to. most important make sure that they give u a 100% pure steel jewlery. ONe thing that u want them to do is to were surgical gloves. I have had a very bad expirence so just wanted to warn u ppl outthere. I had a huge bump on my nose that cause me to go to the hospital. It turned out to be that an infection was growing in my nose and had turned purple. the doctors had to remove it by cutting my nose open. Now I have a big scar on my nose. which I hide from ppl using makeup that matches my skin color. take care and clean ur peircing regularly

personally i think that many of the people on here do seem to be too young. I have my own done and i wanted one as well for a long time but i waited until i could get it done legally and right. A lot of work goes into getting your nose done and many schools dont let you have them so you get it done you have to keep it in. What happens if school doesnt allow it. You have to clean it everyday or else it will get infected. By infected i mean you get a bump on your nose that you have to take extreme care of or it will get very bad and look extremely disgusting. I suggest any one wanting one at a young age that they wait. And as one of the people before me said people will think differently of you.

lol i'm 14 and i have my nose pierced, navel, ears like 7 times and the downstairs. i did my nose myself and it turned out fine. i say if yur folks wont let you get it done do it yourself because they usually wont change thur minds.. but make sure your not allergic to any silvers or golds and junk like that. yeah they leave little scars but it just looks like a freeking pimple so if your planning on getting it done you better make sure it's something you're gunna like and keep for a long time. and clean it and don't touch it with your dirty fingers because i know for a fact something little like that will get it infected. if you need any more info e-mail me or something. perfect.situation.69@hotmail.com k thx

Hello. I just got my nose peirced yesterday.i was scared to death lol but it actually doesnt even hurt that bad. im 15 but i think that you guys should think about it before you get it done, if you parents say no then just wait :) but it takes about 3 months to heal i had my other nostril peirced when i was 14 and it fell out and grew over at night. so make sure its in good before you go to sleep.and it leaves a veruy little scar only you would probely be able to notice it unless you pint it out to someone else..and if your allowed and you really want it done then go for it :) its really cute and youll be really proud of yourself after you get it done :) -Alyssa Smith

I Am 13 and i want to get my nose pierced but i dont want to look slutty! lol havnt asked me parents but dont worry! i would NEVER do it myself, for a start i would be dead! (not really) and i personally think its completely stupid! i have the top of my ear done and i remember the pain, well there wasnt really even! if anyone reading this wants it done, u can hardly even see it! i had someone notice mine yesterday but it was becasue they could see the back. it doesnt hurt much just for a few seconds, i hate needles and pain but i would get that done again! they say it will hurt for 2 weeks or more, if u get spry! use it non stop u can always buy more at a chemist and i used mine ALOT and it never hurt after the day i got it done! not at all. anyway... i want my nose done but i need a way to convince my partents to let me! i only want a small one not a chunky one. i havnt asked because im trying to get good grades and keep my room clean ect. i have heard that it hurts more than a bee sting but less than ur ears, and for people that dont have their ears, i was 2 when i got mine and i didnt bvry! i just sat there ! lol so i dont remember the pain or if there was any, but ask people u know that have ANY peicings and see who they recomend. i know someone that got one and screamed! when they did it because she was mean so get the right person tell them how u feel.

I had my nose pierced when I was 9. 9! And I looked after it fine and it was great for about 3 months. And then someone hit me in the face and it got infected and I had to take it out. It healed over very quickly but did leave a scar. I'm now 15, nearly 16 and the scar is still there. After having it in only 3months. Please stop asking if it'll hurt because it's not the same for everyone. Want to know where to get it done? Look on the Internet and while your there look up prices. If your parents won't let you have it done ask them to look it all up so they know all about it. If they still say no, there's probably a reason for it and there's no point arguing. Wait until you can do it without parental consent!

ok so i got my nose pierced in december of 2006, right before christmas, and my friend did it for me, cuz she had hers pierced. and i go to a christian school, and they didnt allow it, so i had to take it out almost every day. and when i didnt, i got suspended. well i was 13 when i got it done, and i just turned 14 a few months ago. i just got so fed up with having to take it out all the time, that i just decided to let it close. it doesnt hurt that badly, and mine didnt get infected, cuz i cleaned it all the time with the ear piercing antiseptic stuff from Claires. so before u get it done, make sure its allowed with places u go to alot, otherwise its gonna suck. and i also had to re-pierce mine a few times...and it isnt that great of an experience to pierce over a scab... :)

okay, well first of all i'm 14 turning 15 in a few months and i've always had a fascination with piercings. I don't think age matters when it comes to piercings, I just think you have to REALLY want it, at least take a few weeks to make sure you really do want it. I have been thinking about getting my nose done for a few years and i've never stopped wanting it. I have 6 holes in my ears and my navel. My mom needed to be talked into it but now she wants to know what the piercing would look like when its healed a few years after you get it done. So if anyone could help me with that it would be nice. I once heard, if you can't spell the word 'pierce' you probably shouldn't be GETTING it pierced.

im not sure why all of you are so worried about having a scar from a nose piercing. if a pin hole scar is the worst thing thats every happens to you in your life, be grateful! when i got mine done it wasnt that bad at all,a pinch, and when he put the jewelry in was the worst part, but it was quick, and over, and im bananas about it! and someone asked if you have to get it pierced with a hoop... NO! i got mine done with a stud, and its amazing. as for being to young to get your nose pierced, i dont think so, if you want it and you can handle it, then do it, because you can always take it out! its not permanent! and as for talking to parents... thats always tough... if you can sucker one parent into it thats good, but i was 18 when i started getting mine so i just came home with them. but i found and still find it best to be straight with them. act mature get your info together before you bring it up, know the prices, where you can go to get it done, why you want to get it done, the dangers (unless there is a freak accident, he tries to pierce you with a chainsaw, or you are a hemophiliac you are NOT going to bleed to death!) good luck ladies!

wow.. you are all so young.. well i'm 15. i got it done at a local parlor and it didn't hurt at all, except it was a little sore afterwards. it takes 3 full months to heal before you can take it our or replace it or anything.. make sure you bring a picture i/d with you, possibly your birth certificate to prove your age if there is an age limit like here where i live, and have a parent with the same last name with you if you dont have a birth certificate to prove your age (they can vouge[sp?] for you). since you have to wear the first piercing for so long, make sure you like the color you get too! you dont want to be stuck with a lime green one and have everyone mistake it for a booger for 3 months! lol.. or even take a neutral nail polish and paint over it to make it flesh colored if you aren't allowed to wear them. good luck everyone! hope i helped---

Hey, well I am 14 years old and have pierced my nose 3 times now! the firs time i did it with my friend with a non-sterilized needle that you get from one of those rememrance day poppies, ha and obviously it got infected and i had to take it out. The second time I had t o keep taking it out for volleyball, it got infected from handling it so much with hands that were not clean. Lastly, I pierced my nose with a sterilized needle the other day and i have been cleaning it regularly and not touching it as much. It seems to be doing pretty awesome, it's not infected or anything. I would say try that yourself instead of paying money for it, and my mom didn't even care if I pierced it myself casue she said there were worse things I could do then pierce my nose! Just make sure you are doing it in the right spot and the right angle. MAKE SURE IT'S CLEAN. Okay, I'm 25 and have my nose pierced. I don't understand why at 13 you'd want something that you, at age 13, will get bored with in a few days. Wait to do it until you can pay for it yourself! Pain- It hurt when he first stuck that BIG needle through. But it is such a quick pain that it is over FAST! The bad thing is when it bleeds. Mine wasn't even really sore afterward. I had to wear a band aid over it at night for the first couple days. The main thing is keeping it clean and not touching it!! Germs, Germs, Germs. Watch out for those things okay! Like I said I REALLY think if you are 13 or 14 you should wait. Not because of the pain or anything just because you might not like it forever!

I think it doesnt matter how old you are if you want it so do it when there is a will there is a way. In my opinion if you didnt think it through its a piercing after all and it will grow in if you hate it in a few years. Its not like a tattoo that your stuck with. I actally think you should tell that part to your parents. At least your not scarring your bodies with things that will never heal at a young age. Im 21 married and have several piercings Im thinking about doing my nose next so im getting the info. IF you want to do it know about it and make an informed desision. If you want help convencing your parents I can try to help if you want but its up to you! hey, im 14 and im in colorado wit mi frend, and last nite i was reley bored and decided to pierce my nose myself, i havnt reley askd my parents yet, so im probably gonna get my azz kikkd by my dady, but... o well, n e ways, i did it with a needle, and it reley didnt hurt at all, i couldnt feel it, i numbd it with ice fer like 2-3 minits b4 i stuk the nedle through, and its doin just fine. i would do my nose again, it kinda tickled. i just got my cartalige pierced eirler yesterday, but i dont reley reccomend doin it ur self, there will be sum chances n risks ur taking wen u decide to pierce your own body ur self, i did my belly button 4 times, and now its a huge azz scar, but o well, im so stupid fer that i guess, but n e how, i no sum ov u r wondering how long it takes to heal, A NOSE PIERCING TAKES 2-4 MONTHS TO HEAL!

okay yeah its sort of annoying how most people over 15 say that 13 y.o. shouldn't. I'm 19. i agree that some teenagers aren't thinking everything through and aren't always terribly responsible that doesn't mean all are like that. i think that if you've wanted it for a long time and are sure you want it then go for it. just do your research, The Association of Professional Piercers is helpful. You can find local pros' and where. i got mine when i was 12 and going into 8th grade.i mean i didn't look so young i was 5'8 already.But i had wanted it since i was 10 and looked up stuff. My mom actually brought up how shed wanted one since college and we both did some research and got them done together. I still have mine and don't plan on taking it out anytime soon

I really don't think that if you're 13 you should get your nose pierced, but that's just my opinion seeing as they had to pierce my nose twice, but it really wasn't as painful as other piercings. I got mine done when I was 19, and even my mom flipped out a bit, but figured it was my decision, but beware that people will treat you differently because you have it done, especially adults. Just be careful where you go to get it done and you're parents should probably go with you- and if you want to be a teacher or professional when you're older, you'll have to take it out.

ok ppl, stop asking if it hurts. it hurts as much as a hole through yoor nose should. If you want info about it, look on the internet theres everything about anything on there. My mom is ok with me having my nose pierced because at first i wanted a tatto, which she had a heart attack when i asked her. so our agreement was i get my nose pierced and i wait till im 16 for my tattoo. I hate saying this but if your parents say no then theres usually a good reason for it. So ask for the reason. Im only 14(15 in two months) and i have it done, it doesnt matter how old you are but it matters if you can or cant take proper care of it.

im 16 and i got my nose pierced 3 days ago. and the nose is less hurtful than ears and tatoos. it doesn't hurt that bad!!!!!!!!!!! its a small pain but it happens so quick. make sure you clean every day. and i think ya'llshould at least be over 14 to get a nose ring.

Hi :o) - I just got my nose pierced yesterday, and it looks very cute. I'm 13- and suck at taking pain, but as far as that goes, it wasn't so bad. It hurts more than your ears(but ears don't even count as pain). They used a nail to pierce my nose...I'm not sure if that's normal, but it's okay so far. It hurts immediatly afterwords more than it does while they're actually piercing it. Good luck with your piercings...You should go for it- you'll be proud of yourself afterwords.

I agree with some of these people if your parents won't let you there's probably a good reason behind it. And some of you guys are like 13 and 14. Have any of you guys thought it out? Are you positive you want it? If your parents won't let you then in a couple years it won't matter if you want it that badly. So if you do want it that badly and are positive then in a couple of years you'll probably still feel the same way.

I'm also 13 and i really want my nose pierced(for like a year now) and I have 11 piercings(10 ears and my belly button)the first time I asked my mom about my nose she said no(and still is)but I think i can eventually drive her down. I know I'm young and all that stuff, but I have been researching and I just wanna know if anyone has some advice on what I should say to my mom and how long will it take till i can take it out. And...no u dont have to get a ring when u get yer nose pierced...i got a stud...but there less chances of it gettin infected if therez a ring..because therez no moisture
