If you don't know, then you shouldn't be breeding. But if you really want to know, all female dogs differ. Some breed early, some late.

celticarcher is right. Dogs vary alot.there are three stages of heat.
1.Going into heat which can last from 1-17 days average=9 days.
2.In heat which lasts from 3-21 days average=9 days.
3. Going out. Space between heats is 4-12 months. average=6 mo. Pregnancy lasts from 58-66 days from the first day of breeding.
Professionals suggest putting her with the male every other day to find out. If you have other Questions about heat/pregnancy email me at stanishas@aol.com and I'll try to help. Tanisha

The best time to breed your dog in her heat cycle (the day she starts bleeding is one day then count to nine days and breed her then)is the ninth to the twelth day. A sure sign is put the pair together and she will move her tail for him. I usually breed on the ninth day , then let a day between and put them together again on the eleventh day.
