REDNESS & EXERCISE - What can you do when you workout and perspire to keep your face from getting so red and so sore.  Mine burns terribly when I sweat.

Very good question. I'd like an answer too. My rosacea developed when I started to run marathons - with many hours with a hot face.
My only suggestion at the moment is to make exercise shorter - and then cool down as much quickly as possible after (a cool shower works for me).

Reading the FAQ from the National Rosacea Society's webpage, they suggest that when you are exercising, to put a cool, damp towel around your shoulders and to drink cool or ice cold water often.  I have found the towel suggestions to be somewhat effective when doing aerobic machines/stairmaster.  I don't know how well this would work for a marathon runner, but you could try dipping a sweatband in cool water and wearing that while you ran! The NRS also suggests breaking up workouts into smaller chunks (ie 15 min 3x a day instead of 45 min all at once), as Rob has already mentioned.

I have fair skin and have had rosacea since 13 (I'm now 34), and I've a couple of suggestions for when exercising.
*  Try not to work out when it is hot.  If possible, use indoor equipment, preferably with airconditioning in the room.  (The basic idea is to stop your face from overheating.)  
*  Apply a light covering of aloe vera, or other 'calming' lotion to face before AND after exercising - this helps to sooth a sore face.  I have found that some 'after-sun' lotions are pretty good for this too.  (If you are using a topical antibiotic, make sure that there are no chemical clashes between the two.)
These may seem like basic ideas, but they work for me!
