My cat is 9 years old.  He just recently quit meowing where he used to all the time.  He is now swallowing funny as if he has a sore throat.  We just recently got a 2 month old kitten that loves to attack my cat.  When my cat has had enough, he hisses.  Could my cat have a sore throat from hissing?
He seems healthy otherwise- maybe moves a little slower at times.  Can they get colds and flu's?

I was wondering the same thing..
Fairly vocal 12 year old cat, very healthy in all other aspects. Recently got a kitten who the 12 year old hisses at constantly, and now the 12 year old seems to be doing a funny swallowing motion and is not meowing, in fact, i heard her try and she couldn't.
