1998 New Beetle - Has issues. . Took my bug to Les Schwab to get the axle switched out because of a bad CV. I usually do this stuff myself but was strapped for time (Wish I would have :( Anyway they got the axle in and gave it back. The steering wheel was turned to one side and would not drive in a straight line so I took it back and had them pull it back out. They ordered another and I took it back a second time. Same issue so I had them pull it out so I could look at it. I compared it to the oem on the bench and showed them that it was almost three inches too long with the CV'scollapsed!!! I asked the guy how in the heck he even got in and he replied that he had to loosen the engine and shift it. I promptly asked for my money back and asked that I put the old one back in myself.

Sorry for the long story but every since this the engine stumbles upon acceleration and misses as soon as warms enough for the cold start to switch off. Zero power when it's warm like it's leaning out. Is it possible that the engine getting moved broke something creating an air leak, broken a ground or does it sound like one of the pumps is bad. The M1 convert we have is real easy to work on but I don't know where to start on this one. . Any ideas please, thx Rich.

I ordered my own axle and installed it already for those who wonder.
