My hedgehog has become so huffy I can not even pick her up and hold her anymore.  Is it dangerous or painful to her if I cut the tips of the quills off?

we had a wonderful hedgehog she passed away 2 christmases ago, due to cancer of the jaw.  When we were socializing her, in the begining she had times when she didn't want to be held or moved.  When this happened we used oven mitts or towels to gently move her around.  Always remember not to flinch and make sure they feel safe with your touch.  Our hedgehog was found of giving us two for flinching. If they like to hiss at you, hiss back.
