How can a housewife clean calcium deposits from drinking glasses? I have used CLR(commercial product),white vinegar,baking soda and various detergents without results.

Pure acetic acid (vinegar) should do the trick...buy a gallon of distilled water and use that to wash your delicate stemware in...it sounds like you have hard water.  It can be murder on your china...and your bathtub!

Try the vinegar, but put dried rice in the bottom, swish it around, and the dried rice will gently aid the vinegar in removing the deposits. also works on dried wine in the bottom of a decanter, saw that on tv.
