I think my daughters computer in Florida (I'm in New York) is infected with a virus that I heard about a few weeks ago -- that shuts down your system--(I believe the message is "your system will shut down in xx seconds".

Is there anything that can be done to clean the machine...she does not have enough time to access programs before the virus shuts the machine down.

And you virus creators --here is a 'kid' that can't access homework and is distraught--SUCK!

In the one minute you have after 'The RPC server' announces the restart of the computer, start a dos prompt and type shutdown -a, which will cancel the pending shutdown req and buy you time. Then, go to www.pandasoftware.com and get a PQRemover (Free) for BLASTER virus. Then, after that has been cleaned buy some protection!

Computers are machines. The matrix is a movie made to show the govt wat virus and spyware can do to your bios. Your daughters computers is affected with spyware and you neesd Microsoft Antispyware. It's free and its safe. You can trust me because i make programs and build computers. By the way tell your daughter to stay of xxx sites since they bring the most spyware. I hope her computer is up to date.
