It depends on where you live and it also depends on the owner of the tattoo parlor or the artist you talk with, but of cities/states/provinces/ will give you permission if you are under the age of 18 and have parents consent.

i dont think any one under 18 yrs old should get a tatto wheather their parents say it ok or not. Its a VERY permentant peice of art and a child under 18 isnt mature enough to make a life long deceision like that

You can get a tatto at the age of 3 if your parents sign 4 it cause all the state needs is a parental signature cause I got a tat on my hand thats says South Side Click at the age of 15.

i think that if you want a tattoo now that you should get one when you want it and then if you regret it later then you should have thought about that before you did it! but i am 16 and my mom said i could get one but not the state i live in.

I think that if someone wants a tattoo they should be able to get one, with a parents consent of course for those under 18. I live Oregon and i am only 14 and i want a tattoo of a symbol of my religion but i can not get one even if my parent sign for it. I have been researching and looking up laws of the ages you have to be to get this piece of art. some of the few places i have seen are in people homes and who knows how clean they are. Thats why i think they should be able to get one with a parent signature because if a kid wants a tattoo that bad they will find a way to get one with or without thier parents knowing.

im trying to get a tatto right now and im 15 everybody is tellin me to wait bc as u get older ur skin steches or whatever and if u like get it on the bottom of ur arm itll move upwards i dont really know all that but im actully gettin my boyfriends name on me in blacklight so the tatto wont show up unless in near one maybe thats an alternative bc when ur 50 u most likely wont be near a blacklight and u cant see it

It's not too late for doing tattos but as soon as u do it u can't change it easily, so don't tatto your boy/girlfriend's name coz u might change your boy/girlfriend and if u wanna get rid off it u should remove it several times and it's too expensive, the worse bit is the scar u will have for whole your life!!! Think about design as i said IT WON'T BE TOO LATE!!!

I will like to say that Even tho your young you should and could get an tatto even if your parents sign a consent form stating that you could get an tatto art on your body so think it over and think what you want you want on your body for life because you will have it there for life.

Yung Bama....I hate to tell you but, YOUR WRONG!?! I'm 15 and I live in Iowa and you can't get a tattoo even with parental consent. You have to wait until your 18. You should stop giving people the wrong information and research your facts before you post it.

i think anyone who wants a tattoo should be able to get one with a parents signature. i am 15 and i want a tattoo of just my name and my mom said i can get it if i have the money. in my state we're allowed to do alot with a parents signature.

I am 17 years old and have 4 tattoos, I love them. They help express who people are! I think if you want one you should think about what you want before you decide what you want because its isn't easy to change once you have one, but if you want one go for it!

I think it depends on the Tat, if the person in question of getting a tatto can honestly say that in 10, 20, or even 30 years from now they won't regret it. then let them get it.

i am 16 years old and i have a tattoo. i think that if you are under the age of 18 your tattoo has to be something small and something that you will not regret later in life and subsequently blame your parents, for allowing you to get it in the first place. it should also be hidden and something unbiased (for those idiots out there, that phrase means no boyfriend or girlfriend's names) that is immature and you shouldn't subject yourself to that, no matter how old you are.

blazedforlife1 DONT GET ur bf'sname on ur body u shouldnt unless u knw ur gonna be together for ever!!!! b.c if u split (not sayin u do) but if u ever did n u wanted it removed u will have to have up 2 15-20 treatments to remove ur bf'sname frm ur skin which involves sanding ur skin n bleeding loads and u will b left wiv a scar trust me in 15 and i reli want 1 n im gonna b goin behind my mums n dads bk but they wont b able 2 c it b.c its gonna b down a bit frm my stomach plz dnt have a butterfly or sumfing lol

i thank you should be able to. most kids have parents that will let them have a tatto at 16. such as my parents. the only problem is i have to go out of state inorder to get it. i am writing a report of why i wont this law changed cuz i dont thank it is right for only a few states to have this law. so if you want to change or write me on why you want to change it write me at icing2007megan@yahoo.com thank you

YOU should be able to get a tatto if u and your parents agree to it some people want to get tattos that acutaly mean something. i mean im 16 and have three tattos one my nickname and a pic of it, my last name, and one for my 18year old cousin/bestfriend

I personally think you should wait if you are under the age of 18 even if your parents decide it's ok with them.I am 16 and I want a TATTOO but I am going to wait because in my state Alabama you got to be 18 years old to get one.But their are lots more reasons you should consider like if your 15 and your still growing think about how your beautiful tattoo will look all stretched out and you should also consider if you decide to get it removed think about all that money.
