I have a 2000 Chrysler Concorde. 2.7 unfortunatly. Has been making a knocking noise of course, 3 days after I bought it from a private owner, (who happen to be a priest..) Anyway, had it diagnoised last week, and they say all of the lifters need to be replaced. Does anyone know, ballpark, about how much $ this should cost me to have fixed? I am in the process of calling several mechanics to get prices to ensure I'm not ripped off anymore, I'd like to just get another opinion from someone who may also have a good idea. Also, the mechanic who diagnoised the problem said I really did not have to have it fixed, as long as I can live with the knocking noise...which seems to not make much sense to me...??? Any info would be appreciated....:)
