Ok. I heard the book The Vampire Lestat was in Broadway not too long ago. So, will someone be making the movie The Vampire Lestat, or what?

The Broadway musical is a combination of Interview, Vampire Lestat, and QOTD. The Music is being written by Elton John and someone else but I am unsure of the name.

Bernie Taupin and Elton John are both writing the music for the Broadway Production. I wonder if there will be tryouts! Anyway, 2005 is looking very Goth for Broadway!

The 7 principles have been cast. The show is a combination of the first 2 books (Interview... and Lestat). The book (script) has the blessings of Ann Rice.

Rob Roth and Matt West, the team behind Beauty and Beast, are behind this. Warner Bros. is financing. Elton John and Bernie Taupin are writing the music. (Wait until you hear 'The Crimson Kiss'!)

Tryouts will be in San Francisco in Jan. '06 with an opening on Broadway late spring (tentative).

Yes I have a connection to the show. Won't say what it is though.

They should create a movie based more on the chronicles rather trying to dummy down.  Either way, the broadway musical is due at the end of this year and I can't wait to see their version.
