I've been married to an illegal mexican immigrant for 3 years now. He is the best husband and father - we have 2 children together. We just built a nice home -- we are nice people! I think the US government should do something to make it legal for him to be here. Afterall, they would be breaking our family apart to send him back. I'm sick and tired of americans saying if they are here illegal they need to go back. I mean my husband is a human being - we didn't plan to fall in love - it just happened! Why shouldn't he be allowed to stay here and work and contribute to making this country better by paying taxes! I think some people need to stop and think about what they say before it comes out of their mouth.

This is addressed to those 'Americans' that don't want Mexicans here (particularly FED UP): Foremost, you're complaints are ludicrous (that means laughable or hilarious because of obvious absurdity or incongruity) and you're intellect (brain power) is only par for the American population that continues to insult the world around it with it's 'higher than thou' attitude. Mexicans do not take your jobs. They continue to help provide you with the economy you so ignorantly enjoy. Your six dollar burger only costs $3.95 because hard working people from less fortunate countries come here and do our dirty work in hopes of the same dreams we have. If it were unionized by 'Americans' it would cost you $7.99. Second, you are no more native to this land than any of the rest of us. Don't try telling me you're Native-American either; the fact is that Mexicans are more Native to this land than those of us with European heritage--which only lends to you're phenotype attitude. Third FACT that you should attempt to wrap your feeble mind around: the number one regional location from the world that contributes to 'illegal' immigrants in America is EUROPE! That means that the INS has shown, statistically, that European's are the group that has the largest percentage of illegal immigrants in the U.S., NOT MEXICANS/LATINOS. By the way if you don't understand (or I should say, 'can not explain') the meanings and differences behind Latino and Hispanic then, you shouldn't be allowed to gripe about them. Bottom line is you, as well as people like you, are scared, apathetic and uneducated as to the subject matter you seem so intent on attacking. NOW, go sit down with a dictionary, look up the words you didn't understand here and then enroll in some class where you can educate yourself with the basic facts--with any luck you may be able to turn your hateful life around, realize the benefits of this country that you abuse so blindly, and gain some empathy. Truly, an American, who is sick to death of hearing racist pigs represent themselves as "Americans".

I am an American citizen and am about to marry an illegal Mexican. We have our marriage certificate already. Paper work is in process, but he's still illegal. It's funny that "Americans" represent Freedom, but don't want anyone else to have freedom. Nobody asked to be born in a different country. America is a country that represents Freedom and EQUALITY. For you that don't know what that means - treating others equal, no matter race, religion etc. If you are true American (not just born here) you would want others to have a better life. Think about it.... How would you feel. Put yourselves in other country mens shoes. Don't forget everyones relatives weren't all citizens, think about what they went through.... Easier saying stuff, not so easy imagining stuff.

I am astounded at the obvious and outlandish, horrible prejudice statements made here. I am a Cherokee woman. And what I would say to some of these people, where are you truly from? Did your ancestors come here legally? Did they come and steal land and have the ability to do it, because of the color of their skin? And if they did, was that correct? And if they didn't, you are Native American, and should be ashamed. All people have a right to live life without oppression. All people have the right to have the ability to take care of their families, and want a better life for their children. As for your children, I truly feel sorry for them, if you don't change your hearts. I am a true American, and wish well to any who come here, work hard, and look for prosperity. This country has enough to go around.

I have been with my illegal Mexican husband for over 6 years. We have no children together and I am 2 semesters from being an RN. I do however have 2 children that he takes care of like his own. He is wonderful and treats me with more respect than my white ex-husband. He has supported me in all of my efforts in life and puts me first. I wish that those who are worried about them taking your jobs learn what it is like to be here in their shoes. Also, it isn't going to stop and to fight it is rediculous. You see, we spend BILLIONS every year trying to prevent them from coming here and it isn't working so we are basically throwing money away instead of instituting a way for them to pay correct taxes, get car insurance and licenses, and keep track of who is here. One thing that amazes me is that these people are coming to work. They are not coming here to enter our colleges and learn to fly airplanes so they can kill thousands of citizens in 15 minutes. I think too much energy is put on Mexican people and not on the real "enemy" that is currently here in the US. I am proud to be a citizen but I am just as proud to have a Mexican husband who is a better man than most American men I have known. American men are turning out to be really weak people with little to no idea on how to take care of a household much less a wife. One day soon we are going to need the raw strength of these Mexican men to fight for this country because our young men are too soft to do it. They would rather have keg parties, work in an office wearing a suit, they don't want to be for the most part (the men in the military are an exception) dirty and doing hard labor intensive work. Who are we kidding? This whole argument is so rediculous and I agree with another comment: None of those who complain about loss of jobs would even think of doing the jobs that they perform and by the way you can thank a Mexican more than likely for building the house a lot of those complaining are living in.

I would like to just say I am an american and I have fallen in love with a mexican he is a beautiful person he has family back in mexico that he wants to go and see but he is afriad if he returns back he will have to stay there. I have children too and understand his worries completely but I don't want to sound selfish but I don't want him to go back not until I can find out a way to marry him make him legal and then we can all go back to see his family. And to all the americans out here you need to look at what you have and not what you don't have mexicans,blacks,whites all are people we all are human beings not objects. ok i am american. I live with an illegal mexican. Hes the best thing that has ever come into my life. This man has accepted my son as his own. Contriutes to household financial responsilities such as rent and food. It kills me to hear some of the things you lazy ass americans say about immigrants. i mean are you all going to work picking up trash in hot weather,poring concrete in the middle of july, or workin in hot factories with no ac? i didnt think so how do i know this im white. i know damn i work in an office and thank god for that. But for real all these huge building and the way homes can be uil so fast should be credited to these mexicans. i mean i work at a hotel and we hire hispanics only to clean rooms because they work there butts off then go home! i swear i really think some ofyou need to get off you high horse and get a life you do know that we stole this land from the indians right or did you forget that minor detail. as far as im concerned we have no right to judge who enters the us ,as long and they are working and contributing. i know many more homeless, jobless white people than hispanics so i guess ya'llbetter beef up on your spanish becaus ethey are not going anywhere pinche pendejos!

Laws are laws good people or not we need to follow laws. In America if you break a law you go to jail, why is everyone crying about them getting sent back if they are here illegally? They broke the law and there are consequences to pay!! I have a lot of Mexican friends who became permanent residences and then U.S. citizens, so it is possible to be here legally!! If you want to live in this country so bad and love it here then why isn't it worth it to do it the right way, the way that is legal to the country you want to live in? If you don't like our laws what are you doing here? To the people that are married to an illegal, stop crying - you knew the laws before you got into this!!!

I find it shocking that there are so many heartless people in this world. How can people write such rude posts about people who are here illegally? Yes, there are some people who are here illegally that are careless about breaking laws and being in such a great country. They should be deported,but what about those illegal immigrants that work those long hard hours for cheap labor in order to provide food and shelter for thier families? There are many immigrants here illegally that are trying really hard to make a living. I am white and I have many friends of different nationalities that are here illegally and they are awesome people. It sucks to see them struggling to find a job and worrying about whether they will have enough money for thier rent because the jobs that they have don't pay alot,or to hear them talk about wanting to go to college and make something of themselves but they are not able to because of the fact that they are here illegally.We are all human beings and no one should be judged by who they are or where they come from. No one is better than anyone else. I think that if you are happy and in love with someone regardless if they are here illegally you should go ahead and get married. Who is anyone to tell you that you cant marry someone that you love and adore? I wish all you couples that have written posts about getting married all the happiness in the world and all the luck for getting your fiances papers in order.

I'm a mexican american and i am 17 years old and my boyfriend is 21.He is also mexican and we been together for almost 3 years and we also have a little baby boy. Were going to get married next week and i agree if it was'ntfor the mexicans or other hispanic immigrants the U.S.A would'nt be so rich. It would'nt be what the U.S.A is today. so you gringos need to think about what you say .Don't you remember back in the day when U.S.A need people to work your Land so what did U.S.A do ? They brought Mexicans to pick your apples and to to conststruct your roads so don't you give me that crap!So all you americans saying that us mexicans need to go back where we came from , you better thank god for us mexicans because without us the U.S.A ain't nothing !

I AM MARRIED TO AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT ALSO. WE HAVE FILED ALL OF THE PETITIONS TO IMMIGRATION AND ARE NOW WAITING FOR AN APPOINTMENT WITH IMMIGRATION. THIS PROCESS TAKES TOOOO LONG IT IS RIDICULOUS. I am dating a Mexican guy who is here legally. Honestly, I really do not see what the big deal is if someone is legal or not. Do you people even live in states like Arizona where many of the illegals dwell? They are hardly taking any jobs from anyone. How many of you want to work in 115 degree heat pulling weeds from rock hard dirt, only to get screwed over by some fat F##ker who knows he can get away with it, because you are illegal? Educate yourselves. My mom was an illegal immigrant, and guess what, she's WHITE. Not from Mexico. I wouldn't exist or would this country exist if it weren't for immigrants. As far as answering the question about marrying an illegal: The JOP and ministers and such have absolutely nothing to do with immigration, what-so-ever. They just marry you, and that is it. The whole process of having your loved one receive a green card, permanent stay, etc., is through immigration services. It is a long and arduous process. Thanks, Marian.

1. Hispanics take the jobs Americans don't want. 2. To everyone who wants to kick illegals out, your ancestors got off of a boat not speaking this language as well. Not to mention, if the immigration laws that existed today had existed in the past, most of us would'ntbe "American." 3. We (Americans) stole this country,spilled the blood of many indigenous people,and hispanics. Most of the southwest states were once a part of Mexico. 4.The reason most people really dislike hispanics are because they make Americans look lazy. Which as a whole we are. This country has always been and with the grace of God will continue to be a melting pot of all races. And if you don't like this maybe you should get out of America.

Well, I don't think there is much hope for getting a green card for your illegal Mexican boyfriend. The only thing to do is for him to go back home and come back over legally. I am having this problem myself. I was a lazy American, single mother on welfare. Until I met my boyfriend and fell in love with the greatest man I have ever met. Since meeting him, my quality of life has improved 100%. I moved out of my parents house finally at 27! I now have more energy and do more things then ever before, because I am happy. We live together in our own place now. He has been working in the same filthy factory for 2 years now. And on the weekends he prunes and cuts America's freakin' Christmas trees. You didn't think some white American is out there in that cold weather chopping those trees down for 6 dollars an hour, did you??? Anyway, my man works hard, he's illegal and he still pays his taxes. He doesn't want to live here forever. He eventually wants to go back and live in Mexico. Is it really asking too much for him to get a temporary work visa? I guess so. That why we have to go and live in Mexico. I am not about to keep trying to have a life with this man when at anytime he could be deported. So, I will pick up and move myself to Mexico with my 8yr old daughter because America is too racist to give him a work visa. P.S. If there were no Mexicans here, America would starve!

Well i havent fallen in "love" with a illegal mexican but i believe that the government should do something to make the process alot easier for them. They are human just like us, cut them they bleed red just like the rest of us. Alot of my friends are illegal but that doesnt change anything. They are some of the best friends i could ever have. So ppl need to chill out, THEY SHOULDNT HAVE TO GO BACK TO THEIR OWN COUNTRY. We were all illegal at one time exept for the Native Americans. Most of the ppl that think they should go back...well there roots go back to probably Italy, Germany...places like that. So honestly if we are going to kick "mexicans" out we might as well kick most of the population out. Yes i will say it, im half mexican but im thinking of this logically.

As you can see we all are going backwards becoming more racist, like to black people, Jewish people and now to Latin people, I think you guys need to mature and rethink what you say, people come from far way countries to work hard and do things that they never did in their countries to give their children a better life, why don't you put yourself in their shoes and think what would you do, it is so easy to judge people but not to put yourself in their side. People are becoming more inhuman and heartless day by day. What would you do if didn't have a option to migrate to another to succeed. Would stay in your country and die of hunger, come on people!!! They are no criminal, they just working hard and making your lives easier, by cleaning toilets and you are on your jacuzzi. We all make America. Sorry if i offended you but it's true.

I once was one of those people that believed that the Mexicans were stealing our jobs but now I have come to my senses and realized the jobs they have are ones we wouldn't lower ourselves to do. I mean if we were doing them then these employers wouldn't have the vacancies to hire them right? My granddaughter is bi-racial and the most wonderful human being on the face of the earth yes I am prejudice but at least it is in a good way not a negative way!! I have recently began dating an illegal immigrant that has been here since he was 7 years old he tried to attend school but due to a learning disablilty he wasn't able to finish. He started working for a company 7 years ago at the age of 17 and makes much more than the bottom dollar wage some of you have spoken about he even makes more an hour than I do and I am a college gradute with a Bachelors degree. So your stereo typing of the Hispanic people is just that your opinion so do us all a favor you go back to where you came from because if you aren't native american you aren't from here either. Just think if your fore-fathers were sent home where would you be now? Not here thats for sure so before you open your uneducated mouth again to put down what the Hispanics are doing to our economy just think about what your welfare/foodstamp drawing lazy buns have done to it already!!!!

I have been involved with a Hispanic male from Mexico for 3 years. He works not one but 3 jobs, which is more than I can say for the Americans in our own back yard who live off our taxes through welfare and other tax supported programs. You say go to his country and make their economy suffer. Their economy is suffering. They come here to survive on more than 5 dollars a day. I would like to see Americans work for that. In case you haven't noticed Americans are not even the majority in this country anymore. We are a melting pot for the whole world. Everyone is angry at Mexicans. What a joke. They are the least lazy ethnic background I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. So before you speak you should get some knowledge on the subject.

I'm married to an illegal Mexican also and from what we could find out you will have to fill out forms from INS to apply for permanent resident status. Then they have to go back to Mexico to wait for an interview. Our lawyer told us the wait in Mexico would be from 6 to 9 months, and then he would have to prove my child and I couldn't survive here without his support. If we can't prove that then he will not be approved and will be forced to stay in Mexico. I also would like to say to those of you who are yelling send them back where they came from, "Don't you have anything better to worry about? These people haven't hurt you or anyone else, and they are taking the jobs Americans won't do. Would you like to strip tobacco or roof a house in 110 degree weather?" I doubt that.

Me (American) and my Fiance (Mexican) have been together for 2 years now and we have a 6month old daughter. My fiance works 7 days a week and HARD to support our little family and so that i don't have to work and i can stay home and raise our daughter. And yes he DOES pay taxes! But he is not legal and has no papers at all :( We plan on getting married this month at the justice of the peace, (and no you do not have to be legal to get married in America or to marry an American)I couldn't stand the fact of him getting deported and me without my partner and my daughter without a father. I just recently went to Mexico with my daughter to visit my fiance's family ( Without him :() And now i truly understand why the all risk their lives to come her because if i had to live there i would do the same thing! Its horrible there and SO sad. Like something you see on t.v where to send money to to help the poor children. Oh my god it was very depressing! So anyways we plan on trying for a green card once our daughter is one year....Does anyone know how to go about this with out getting him deported or having him go back to Mexico while in the process??

I just have a comment, to all you ignorant people saying that illegals are taking jobs from US citizens, you should go out to the real world and look around, walk in to the Welfare office and what do you see a bunch of young healthy African-Americans, Cacusians, and Latin-Americans, that choose to live off the government and the taxes that we pay because they are too LAZY to get off their butts and make something of themselves. Or they pack themselves with more kids than they can support. And do you know where most of the money they get is going? To drugs, alcohol, and sex. But I guess its ok because they are legal.Another thing did you know that there are illegal people that also pay taxes? and that all of those welfare US citizens are leaving off of them too? You must also know that most of construction workers and field workers are illegal?Thats right so the house that you might be leaving in was built by an "alien" or the food that you are eating was picked by an "alien".So I suggest that next time you open your mouth you look around and realize that its not illegal people that are bringing down the country or taking jobs, its people that are lazy and take advantage of the great help and opportunities that this country has to offer.

well Ive been married going on 1 year been with my husband for 7 yrs.And yes Im from the united states as well.We have 4 children together ,He works full time and some overtime,He makes a decent living ,Hes not working for pennies.He owns our home,and all the vehicles we own.So why would he have to go back so I would live off the government which that wouldnt happen but what if other women had too,would that just make all the people FED UP happy.Oh He also pays his taxes not that illegal huh? some us citizens dont even do that ,we started the process of getting his papers but put it off because we heard of the 10 year story.But were doing good without them papers who really needs them..... But just to let all the fed up citizens they wouldnt have thewse jobs if people of the us would take them or do anything for that matter we ought to ban Homeless,and acholics and all the people living off the government that dont need it.Lets talk about them its time to change the subject.

Well as far as Illegal Immigrants... I am a USA born citizen, 100% Mexican. I have found a man that I plan to spend the rest of my life with. He is an undocumented resident in the USA. I plan on marrying this man no matter what. I only want to do it the smart way. He will get his visa and come to the USA, when then we will get married, OR better yet I can go live with him in Mexico he is an Contractor/Engineer (over there). I do not mind moving, but if we can stay here it would be nice. Maybe some of out mates can do better in Mexico. When they have their degrees/certificates/diplomas they think they can do better here. That is not always the case. So either or... If I find a loophole I will let you know. There are always loopholes...we just need to find them.

I'VE BEEN MARRIED TO A MEXICAN IMMIGRANT FOR 10 YEARS AND WE HAVE 2 DAUGHTERS. I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT IT IS UNFAIR TO DENY A CHILD HER FATHER WHEN HE WORKS HARD EVERY DAY TO SUPPORT US AND HE Pays taxes but does'ntget anything back because he's not legal. the poverty level in mexico is sad they live in clay houses and have to sell veggies to buy meat if they were lucky. life is hard there and we should be grateful that we aren't living that way. my husband didn't ask to be born or to have a heart. mexicans die everyday trying to come here and it's in vain. i do agree with the borders to help catch smugglers. I also want to say that at one time our families were immigrant so what makes us any better than mexicans. my husband is mexican but his ancestors are Aztec Indians and they did not speak spanish. I also want to say that black people can relate to a certain extent because thier families were killed, slaves and now thier equal. what makes someone equal? all mexicans are not abusive my husband does alot to make our family happy. our lives feel threatened because at any time thier father my husband can be sent away for a long time and I'mnot guarantee i we will ever see each other again. Is that fair? would you like your mate ripped away? It's like them dying but not really! think about it open minded.

Right on Kelly and "fed up w/american opinions"! And I would like to add that illegal Mexican immigrants are paying taxes! They just don't get any refund at the end of the year, can't get any government assistance, and have to put up with crap like their manager saying, "Ha, I could hit you with this hot fry basket right now and you couldn't do anything about it!" (I've personally witnessed this while working at Wendy's.) Anyway, most people from Mexico are at least part Native American-- there's a sign up along Central Ave in NM where I live that shows a man who is supposed to be Aztec, and he's pointing his finger angrily and it says, "Who's the illigal alien, pilgrim?" Think about that one for a while "Americans"! -Jessica

I have been with my Mexican husband for almost two years. To all those who say they need to go back to Mexico, shut-up, this country was built by immigrants. Just because you are an American doesn't mean you are better than Mexicans. They want better for their children just like we do. I'm sure that some come here to steal from and hurt other people, but not all of them so don't say they all need to go back. My husband has been here for ten years and paid taxes every year and not once has he ever gotten back any of that money back at the end of year. I already had a two yr old son and was one month pregnant wish my second child when I meet my husband. Both of my children are from American's who ran as far as they could when my tests came back positive. He stepped up they both call him Daddy, he is on my youngest child's birth certificate, he is a great provider, I have everything I ever ask for, as do my children. It really scares me not knowing if he is going to pulled over by police and never come home that day. I really think people should just keep their mouths shut when it comes to illegal immigration because as said before they are doing jobs alot of American's would never do!

Here is some thing you all don't seem to think about. 5 months ago I was hit by a durk driver while I was driving home. He totaled my car doing $15,000.00 dollars worth of damage to it. I have also had 2 surgery's to repair damage done to my back. I'm going to be going in for a third in two months. I have had to get two vertebrae in my back reconstructed. I also have 3 broken ribs and a broken nose. Now I bet you all are wondering why I bring this up? The driver that hit my car with his suv and for the most part ran over it was in fact an illegal alien. The plates on the Jeep Cherokee where stolen off another car. He had no insurance at all. So he has since gotten out of jail and ran back to Mexico where he came form. Leaving me unable to work and taking painkillers for the rest of my life so that I can get out of bed every day. So next time you all are driving down the street I want you all to think about what happened to me and think is illegal immigration a problem? Oh and all of you that are "FED UP W/Americans Opinions" would be singing a different song if you where in my shoes. If you are going to come to the US do it right. Not only are you breaking our laws but you are also shooting your self in the foot. Another unknown fact about illegal immigrants is that if you are hurt on the job you are NOT in any way covered by workers compensation. Your boss could fire you on the spot no matter how bad you are hurt the people you work for do NOT have to do any thing about it! Hell, they don't even have to call 911. I do not have any thing against people that want to come to the states to make a better life for them selfs. I do have alot of problems with people doing it the wrong way.

First of all i am with a guy who was born in mexico but came legally to the u.s at the age of three and we have a kid together.My boyfriend got deported not to long ago,and i think it is so stupid when you have "mostly" white people saying they need to go back.Half the jobs the illegal immigrants do are jobs that no white person would do because they think they deserve a better paying job. Also i have noticed that during the time i study history the blacks and the mexicans always got along,but not the white people.The white people were the ones that wanted slavery. I know there are some white people who don't think mexicans should go back to mexico, but the majority of them do.

I am an American going to marry a Mexican. I Love him he loves me and my kids. He is the best thing that has happened to me other than my kids. People here in the USA want to bring a Mexican down, You know that is what is wrong with this country they run their mouths to much. Not to mention they are lazy want to have all these kids and stay home and want the government to pay their way. The Mexicans get hired because the bust their asses on a job,they are dependable. If every one would give them a chance they really are great people, not always talking bad about someone. They are Human and part of GOD'S family too. So the ones that have talked so bad about them I bet you are the ones that will be in Church Sunday acting like a saint. While you are there please say a prayer for yourself. You ask one for help I bet they will help you. Ask your neighbor or even your family and I bet 8 out of 10 they will say I don't have time right now. Think about it.

To all you girls out there with hispanic husbands, I got ur back. I have been with my husband for 5 years and we are going through alot of immigration problems right now. It is definatly not easy, we are surrounded my alot of raciest people it is our society, but one day they will understand because the hispanics are getting better educated here and they will soon take over our country. Everybody will realize that we need mexicans when they deport the hispanics that pick our friuts and veggies and catch our chickens and work in produce plants and factories, because the racist americans arent going to have food however it is sad that it will have to get that bad in order for them to realize that they are important. The thing that agrivates me the most is when they say that they dont pay taxes, okay alot of hispanics that are here illegaly pay taxes under what ever name that they are working under!!!! every time that they go to the store they pay sales taxes, they are paying in alot of money that they are never going to get back ever,it is time for america to face it okay they do cost us millions of dollars but we are never negative because they pay in ALOT more than they cost the government!!!!!

I would like to know the answer to this too. My situation is slightly different, however. We have been married for nearly two years, and own a house jointly. I can't bear the thought of him having to go back to Mexico for his interview, because I know he will be barred for at least 10 years, if not permanently because he was deported once already. Do we have any recourse?

I'm sure I speak for millions of American's and legal immigrants, we are tired of doing without and struggling while these people you are crying about getting married to are lowering our expectations of this country and what we should be receiving from our country. They are taking jobs from people who are legally here and they are keeping the average hourly pay rate as low as the greedy business owners wants to keep it. why don't you go to mexico with them and drag their economy down.

my husband and I got married,he has no papers at all.they dont care if your a citizen or not.once you are married yes you file a I-130.But yes there is a ten year bar,but there is a way to get around that,but he would have to go to his country,intil everything is approved,could take months,years,it is not worth it,it cost about 3000,and they look at what you make,you have to prove you can take care of him,without ANY goverment help,if he does not pass his medical part,they can make him stay as well,he can not have anything infectious,you can do a wavier for that too.but it cost,regardless,he can still get denied,you have to fight it,it takes alot of time,could even be years.

My boyfriend is MEXICAN and to all you Americans (yes, I'm American) who say these people are taking your jobs. Well, are you going to wash dishes or pick apples from a tree in 100 degree weather. You American's are so lazy and they say in ten to twenty years this country will all be Mexican/Hispanic/American! So if you don't like it, why don't you think of picking up your own garbage or wash your own dish!

My fiance is mexican. He is the greatest guy ive ever met. Hes hard working, respectful and never takes life for granted. hes someone whos touched me in a way no one has ever before. And i am willing to figth and do everything possible to make sure we can be together and get married one day and he can become an american citizen. Instead of living in fear.

I have been married to my husband for 3 years now. I have filed a petition for him to become a permanent resident (I-130) but because he came here undocumented they say he can't proceed any farther in the process because of the current laws. He has been here since he was six. The lawyer said we would have to move to Mexico for him to be legal. So if you love your Mexican and the environment vote for Kerry. Republicans will never grant amnesty Democrats do.

i feel what was said by Kelly. i look at it this way if they really wanted the jobs they are crying about they would have already had them. but as you have said we (being americans) are lazy. they didn't come to our country and take the jobs the jobs were there and have been there waiting for someone to fill the position. it makes me sick when people set there and cry about oh they are taking our money, they are taking our this they are taking our that. get over it because you have already proved that you didn't want it!

I am an american born citizen. It is truly disgusting and unimaginably ignorant how so called "Americans" get mad at illegal immigrants. This land was stolen from the Native people living here. How many treaties were broken by this country? So in fact, most of you and your families are here illegally. Also, this country exploits so many smaller countries that they can't make a living. Most jobs illegal immigrants take are below minimum wage. Would you really want that job?

OK. i have a Mexican boyfriend, and he is illegal. He is the hardest working boyfriend I ever had. He is also the sweetest boyfriend i ever had. We learn a lot living together and really want to get married. He said he doesn'tcare about his papers, but what if something ever happens? Most Americans ARE lazy and most Americans don't realize what these people have to do to get over here!! it's really damn scary! They deserve a good job when they get here. don't be a hater- think about it if the tables were turned!!!

My situation is slightly different. I am a Canadian who wants to marry a US citizen. We've been together for almost 3 years and I am currently pregnant. I haven't overstayed my "legal" welcome yet (I go back every 6 mths. for at least a 2 week stay). However through my own research I have come to the conclusion that once you have married (in the US) all you need to do is file for a green card etc. no later then 90 days after. The interview will take place in the US and everything should be good though I am not an expert on this.

All I have to say is that i'm proud to be in love with an illegal hispanic. There are so many ignorant people talking about them going back to their country, but do they think about these other illegal citizens that come from other parts of the world. I agree with the following statements about how hispanics are human beings! Everyone is equal and they have JUST as much right to be here as we are! Anyways, my boyfriend is from Honduras and we are planning on getting married very soon. (i am also an American citizen) I just hope that he doesn't have to go back there. It's sad to see that some of you are so close minded, but on the other hand it's nice to see other fellow women in my situation. For those of you that feel we have committed a "sin against God," get a clue and think of how you might feel if you ended up in a similar situation. And don't sit there saying "it won't happen" because I used to feel that way too. I never thought I'd date a Mexican that didn't speak English, but here I am and deeply in love more then ever before. So before you judge us all remember we're still ALL human and what we look like and where we come from doesn't really matter ... Stranger things have happened.

Immigration is nothing new to this country, but there are laws regulating it. The fact that you and your husband are "nice people" is irrelevant. Anybody is welcome to stay in this country legally. If you don't agree with the laws, then it's your responsibility to move elsewhere, or wait for a pardon. If you want to stay in this country as a legal citizen, then start the proper legal procedures.

My lord, and none of these responses take into account the literally hundreds of thousands of children who were brought over by their parents who are still classified as illegal, but have only known the US as their home. Did any of you with negative comments realize that there are many innocent parties in the illegal immigration issue. My husband was brought here at 2 and finally now has papers in processing to become a citizen. He's been here for over 25 years. It wasn't his fault, and sending him back to Mexico would make no sense whatsoever.

My husband is hispanic and illegal. I dont know what I would do if they took him away. We have a beautiful daughter together and he takes better care of my son then my sons father. Its hard and we have the same questions as all of you. How do we get him legal, what do I do. I dont want to live in mexico, but if they sent him back I am afraid I would have to. I really dont no any answers and if anyone knows the answers to these questions it would be a blessing. My husband works harder than most white or black men. I think they should be able to be here as much as we can visit there country.
