Omar Bradley and George S. Patton were also Generals of the Army.

John J. Pershing was promoted to the rank of General of the Armies, which some say is even higher.

The first answer is right because it specifies during WWII.  The answer is MacArthur, Marshall, Eisenhower, Arnold. Bradley didn't receive his until after the war.  Patton never had it as he died shortly after WWII.

the first answer is positively correct .  only eisenhower , mcarthur , marshall & arnold held the 5 star rank of general of the army during the war .  bradley did not receive his 5th. star until 1950 .  and patton would never never have been given a 5th. star .  patton was strictly a "combat field commander"  .  he was not suited for a "theater command" .  and he was very hot headed & insulent .  patton was very nearly booted out of the army in '44 .  Eisenhower came to his rescue & saved his ass from being scalped .

Eisenhower, Arnold, MacArthur, and Marshall held the rank of General of the Army during WWII.  Patton was only a four star general, and Bradley was not given that rank until 1950.
