I am having problem unchecking out a file.
The file was previously checked out. The UNIX
Clearcase server got moved and the particular
view got destroyed. The file was checked out
reserved by another view. I need to check out
the file. Is there a way to force uncheckout
or force delete a checked out file?

The error while trying to uncheckout the file
is :

cleartool: Error: No branch of element is checked out
to view "<servername>:<viewpathname>".
cleartool: Error: Unable to find checked out version
for "foo.cc".

When trying to checkout the file the error is:

cleartool: Error: Branch "<branchname>" of element
is checked out reserved by view <no-tag-in-region>
("<old-servername>:<view path name>").
cleartool: Error: Unable to check out "foo.cc".

I am looking forward to a response regarding
if you know how to fix the situation.

Thanks,
Mike

mike,

By removing the old view you can get out of this problem. First remove the tag and then unregister the view.

thanks

Removing(rmtag) the tag and unregister(unreg) the tag will remove the old file.
