I have a 1997 s10 4x4 pickup with a 4.3 engine .A year ago...

I have a 1997 s10 4x4 pickup with a 4.3 engine .A year ago ,almost , my fuel sending unit quit. I had it replaced at my local mechanic and it has been making a very annoying noise since . I got him to get me another yesterday and it is doing the same thing.They are arguing that they all do it .My question is does anyone here know of any others that have had this same problem and if so what is the cure?
