I have a 1996 Dodge Stratus with the 2.4 4-cylinder engine.  The "Check Engine" light came-on recently and the engine idle speed has increased till it is idling at about 2,400 RPMS (a roar).  I've replaced the idle speed control valve on the side of the air intake only to find that, although the idle speed started-out to be about right, the new valve opened more and more till it now idles just as fast as before.  My service station person said that the check engine code indicated a problem with control of the idle speed valve, but he said that when he put a meter on it, there appeared to be a signal for both open and close, measured at the control valve.  I suspect that the "close" signal is no longer working or is only working intermittently such that the engine control module can make it open but can't make it close.  I've tried to inspect the wiring but it is nearly impossible to view the entire wiring path.  What are the color codes or positions of the wires where thy connect to the ECM?  Does anyone have a wiring diagram of this part of the control?  Is there a possibility my ECM has a bad output for driving the idle speed control valve closed?
Thanks,  Keith
