Toy dogs are usually considered to be teenagers by age 1, by age 2 they are young adults equivalent to 24 years in a human. After that, they age, but the commonly accepted 7 years per calendar year does not really hold true. Chihuahuas can live into their late teens, which is the same as late 80's early 90's for humans. There is no absolute, a small dog can be overweight at 6 pounds while another of the same breed can be underweight at 10. The best person to ask whether your dog is overweight or not is your veterinarian.

You can usually see when you are overweight. Breathing is hard and you cant run well.

When they make you purchase two airplane tickets, just for yourself, or you sit on a chair and it breaks, or you have to wear queensized panty hose, or your carseat is all the way back and your stomach still touches the wheel.If you wear plus size anything.If you can't look down and see your feet.If the waiters look really worried when you show up at an all you can eat buffet.
