I am currently on a valid F1 Visa to study and have been on a valid F1 visa for 3 years. I am in my final year of study pursuing a Comp Sci degree. I also compete in inter-collegiate athletics here at my school. To stay eligible to play in the Spring Term, I need to stay part-time in the fall to retain eligibility in the Spring. Thus, I would need to go part-time in the Fall and Full-Time in the Spring. Is there any way for this to be achieved?? I was told that on an F1 visa you need to stay full-time but do they make exceptions for cases like these or are there ways around it?

I got a part time job and I am currently a full time student on F1 Visa. Can I apply for a H1 for this part time job? The employer is willing to sponsor it.

Thanks
