My female dog has crusty dry patches on her elbows .. what is it, is there any treatment for it?

maybe just dry dirt stuck on coat?

wash it with soap really and i mean really scrub it really hard. Because my ugly friend has crusty elbows and it looks sick.and another has a crusty neck. like so nasty. but they scrubed it and some came off but still it came back so then we tried butter and it came off and stayed off...

ive always found a good tumble dry or beating tends to get the crust off.
Or alternatively rack two eggs on each elbow and let and animal lick it off ( its an old wifes tail that the "rough" tounge scrapes it right off.
must dash crusty dog to attend to
