Orthdox jews strictly adhere to the Halakah. Hasids put more of an emphasis on the mystical part of learning, where as the Orthodox jews stress study of the talmud.

The difrence is the intensty that thye follow the Torah and the Talmud. Read The Chosen by Chaim Potok if you really want to find out.
