I really did! I invented the whole concept in about 1963 about the same time I was taking a class called Electricity at Dodson Junior High School in Southern California. I carried an old black and white TV and an electric typewriter over to an electronics engineer's house in my neighborhood and described the concept to him right down to a hand-held mouse type device and using telephone lines to access a main frame. At the time, I suggested they connect to Univac for the mainframe. I really didn't know anything about how to do it other than knowing about the binary system and envisioning some type of micro-electronics from what I had read about in My Weekly Reader in grade school about the electron microscope, and what I had learned, hands-on, about circuit boards in my classroom at Dodson Jr. High. I just came up with the basic concept. Later on, while in my twenties, while working as a cab driver in Concord, CA, a couple I delivered home in my taxi showed me a small rudimentary P.C. and started talking computer language to me. And they told me, "Here's your brain child." I thought they were from Mars, got very scared, and left in my cab. I actually got physically sick and started to shake.
