how do you get rid of a firewall because it is stopping me from getting onto msn witch all you people might find stupid but i think it is a great thing so how do you  get this stupid thing off???????????????????

Open ports 6891-6900 for tcp on your firewall to allow MSN Messenger to work. I know I have just blocked this to stop my daughter getting distracted from he exam revision. mwahahaha!

i know how everybody feels my bloody computer keeps getting behind a firewall everytime i log on. My ISP has told me to get rid of so many things but nothing seems to work.I cant even use internet explorer or log onto any sites at all. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Ok... this may get rid of some of your problems... For people with routers that have built in firewalls, go to http://myipaddress.com/ and type the number they give you into your internet browser address bar... it may go to settings, where you can get rid of the firewall... if you have a software firewall, uninstall it... example, Norton Internet security, zone alarm, or just windows firewall... To get rid of windows firewall, Click Start --> Control Panel --> Network & Internet Connections --> Internet Options --> Network Connections --> Right click the one you use and select Properties --> Use the tabs at the top to get to Advanced, Then make sure that "Internet Connection Firewall" option is not checked... No kidding this firewall crap is driving me nuts and its not the router i am using. Iv even connected directly to the cable modem instead of the router and it comes up as an fire wall so ... How, The hec, Do I GET IT OFF!

Ok so what the hells going on? there is this stupid filtering system on the school computers and me and my friends are trying to get rid of it cause its blocking everything we want to see and need even for school and the teachers don't even know how to control what its blocking.... the system is Bess... can you help us?

now gibeo.net, i dont think is verry effective on it's own so, i use it in conjunction with sneak2.com
now the problem is that sneak2.com is blocked
so what do i do?
i log into my gibeo.net account
then i simply type in http://www.sneak2.com.gibeo.net
that gets me past the firewall blocking sneak2
so now i can access sneak2.com which i think is the best thing to get past firewalls when you use it with thecloak.com

ok what you do is go to gibeo.net
log in
go to sneak2.com.gibeo.net
then you use sneak2.com to access thecloak.com
then you can access every site on the web, no hastles.
have a nice time hacking firewalls.

I have the same exact problem... I haven't been able to sign into my msn messenger and i beleive it's because of a firewall and eeverytime i try from the msn website when it comes time to sign in it says 'page cannot be displayed' i just need to know the steps of how to get rid of this firewall. Pleaaassseee! I've tried everything else and it's not working the error code is 800b0001 and the error code says that signing into messenger has failed because the service is temporarily unavailiable and it's been saying this for the last 3 months but whenever i go to a friends house i sign on just fine!!!! SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

Look I know that this site has enough of people complaining about their problems, however my problem is that my MSN is working fine, but my contacts are all telling me that I'm always offline although they can speak to me. I've been told this is a firewall problem because it was recently fixed. If anyone could give me some help on the subject just tell me.

See here, you can go on to google and type in httpbridge and then sign in as guest, password is guest, or if it is over trafficed, you can go to www.letmeby.com and that can get u by a firewall, them are the only 2 i know. that is how u get by a firewall. rate me perfect!!

I have had problems with Northon's firewall since I installed the renewal.  When I called Dell they told me I would have to renew my contract at 350.00 or have a service of 98.00 to fix my computer.  I said cancel my Norton's.  Now everytime I shut down my computer it freezes and I get a Norton Personal Firewall program alert that I cannot get into my computer.  When I called Norton's and did not get any satisfaction I felt what a rip off.

Has anyone got any answers ever on here, all I read about is problems. So suppose will try looking elsewhere for my friends zone alarm problem to try to fix it when they try to go into yahoo games.

first go to "my computer" and then go to "my network places" which is on the left. then there will be something called LAN or High speed ... right click on it and go to properties. from there select the "advance tab"and disable the firewall. then that' all exit and you got rid of your firewall.

You DONT want to get rid of your firewall, or youll be open to hackers/crackers, viruses and stuff. Go to www.zonelabs.com and download zone alarm. thats a good Firewall, and you can enable MSN access. install the free one. then go to start,control panel, windows firewall, disable and youll be ok. I think  :-)

I need to get rid of a firewall but it's not the windows firewall because I've looked through all the exceptions and everything I have tried to do but can't is already excepted, does anyone know what could be causing this problem and how I can fix it?

first thing why get rid of a firewall thats the one thing stoping u from having comp getting loads of viruses not good. I would say get zone alarms free fire wall. then go to the firewall and click custom. Then open ports 6891-6900 in and out going tcp in the internet trusted zone. that should help u loads as the windows fire might be your problem and in getting another firewall it will shut the XP firewall down.

FIRE WALL! FIRE WALL! FIRE WALL! FIRE WALL!Is that all peaple care about? "oOoOoOo i'm soOoOo scared because my computer's gunna be attacked if i dont have fire wall!" HONESTLY!!! all fire wall does is keeps ypu from doing what you wanna do! Well if YOU AHATE IT TOO you might just wanna learn how to get ride of it. Heres how: Go to your start menu and click controll panal then go to the catagory of network and internet conections. From there, press change windows firewall setings and click "off" So there you go you got you diretions and thats enough from me.."tata for now!" ;D

If you're using someone else's Internet, i.e. your school, work or whatever, you may be behind a firewall. A firewall is a device designed to block traffic in or out of a network to prevent attacks and certain applications from running. Windows has it's own firewall software, but will allow programs that you designate by asking you. More than likely you people are tying to use msn behind a corporate or school firewall. There will be no way to disable this firewall. Don't even try. If you don't know what a firewall is, get off the Internet and read a book.
