I was given The Contemporary Magnavox, phonograph, shortwave, broadcast, FM in a mahogany cabinet, top door for Phono, front door for tuner/receiver with the Magnavox lion decal and brass label intact.   Model 148B, serial 99742, style C104-232.  The delivery tag is still in it - 12-24-47.

Is this one of the high-fidelity units you mention in your answers? Would it be hard to get working? Is it valuable?
The cabinet design is lovely. I am considering taking out the guts and turning cabinet into cd holder?  Would there be any interest in the works? separately?

I just purchased the same unit for $65 at an Estate sale. The AM radio works, but nothing else. My serial number is lower than yours 99469. If I can get everything working I would leave it as is, if not I may install a 12V car CD in it.
