If you were running Unix operating system on your computer, could you use the same application software that you use for a computer running Windows? Why or Why not?

U cant use the same application s/w on unix that u use on windows because windows uses  "exe" format for the executables and "dll" format for the dynamic libraries and unix uses "a.out" and "elf"  binaries for the executables and ".so" for shared libraries.
There should be kernel support to interpret and execute the binaries.
U can use some kind of emulators like wine or dosemu or VMWare to execute the windows applications in Unix.
