A hurricane begins when a warm, wet mass of air over the sea begins to rise quickly. Then combined actions of air, water and heat may then produce a huge, spinning system of clouds, rain and wind- a hurricane. The center, or eye, of a hurricane  us calm. It is a hole in a dough-nut of wind.
A hurricane usually lasts 9-12 days. It forms and builds strength over warm sea water. It loses energy as it moves over cooler sea water or land.

i got that out of a book, I'm not really that smart, I'm just plain stupid :P

Heres a little help for you.

When warm air collides with cold air they spin in a counter clockwise direction until the winds get stronger forming a Typhoon. The more the air circles the stronger it will perform, the reason that the warm and cold air collide is cause the negative and positive air, force each other to push and shove until the air would create a spiral structure that would speed up the more they push and shove. What you see happening is sometimes false and it could easily fool you. What really happens is that The eye has light winds, clear skies and no rainfall. Outside the eye strong winds spiral in towards the eye carrying thick and heavy rain.

Well, a typhoon, just like a hurricane and any other tropical cyclone, forms when many conditions are met. For example, there must be an area of low pressure that moves over warm (around 80 degrees F or more) water. If the upper-level winds, called shear, are not strong enough to rip up the thunderstorms, this low pressure will increase in strength. Officially, a low pressure becomes a tropical depression when it has a surface circulation and a good amount of thunderstorms that stay together for a long time. In the West Pacific, where tropical cyclones are called typhoons, these depressions have plenty of room and warm water to strengthen into typhoons. This is how they, and other tropical cyclones, form.

Well, Typhoons start off as tropical thunderstorms. The strong winds pull in moisture from the oceans. The thunderstorms converts the moisture into heat. The heat causes more air to flow to the center of the storm which cases more evaporation. All the heat and air flow towards the eye creating the typhoon. :)  Hope that answers your question?
