Check out www.alldata.com for any recalls concerning the rear windows.  I have a '91 and there is a "General Recall" on my windows.  Alldata is a free service and EXTREMELY helpful.

My suggestion is to sell sell sell.  The  converts came with one of the weakest engines ever made.  The heads warp easily and they are extremly expensive to fix.  I learned the hard way.

Chances are your windows may need a new motor.  I had the same problem with mine, and I was able to find my motors in a junkyard for next to nothing.  Now my windows ALL roll up and down.  And the boot or "cover" that covers your top when it is down can be put on just by looking in your owners manual.  It's not that hard, it just takes a while to get used to. I hope that this helps.

I had both rear side windows fail, I heard a crunching noise. The motors worked but the plastic was broken where the cables fasten to the lift. The lifts are usually avail on ebay. If you go to a junkyard, move the windows up and down by hand, if there is play they are no good! The bulletin is a low tech fix, drill holes in the body to let water drain so the motors don't get wet. As far as the boot, hook it at the rear corners, snap the front into the  little deal in the side panels, and go around the boot and tuck in the moldings.

Hey!  I thought I had the ONLY 92 Lebaron in the USA with working rear windows! Congrats on finding new motors!  I read somewhere that if you buy replacement plastic gear cogs, it's an easy cheap fix. (check eBay)  My problem is electrical: My low beams don't come on. When I hit High beams, all four come on~~so I know the low beams are not burned out. Any idea for a quick fix without a trip to a mechanic?

Stacy...you are nuts.  My Lebaron has over 240000 miles on it and it ran better than the brand new piece of garbage Jeep Liberty I had to dump due to rear end problems that chrysler would not solve.  LOVE my Lebaron and can't wait to get another one...if you take care of it properly it will last forever.

The answer by Stacy back in 03 is about right. I am on my second engine, and this one leaks water also, as well as passing oil through the valve seals. The bottom end of the engine is strong, but Mitsubishi's really goofed on the rest. Have heard the transmissions are weak also-I baby mine, so far no problem. Bought it used, is on the second trans, is a 91 model with V-6

as for the boot cover, go to the dealer, there are 2 chrome clips that go into the boot, and snap to the chrome trim near the trunk lid

the cover over top.   Slides on there  should have a little edge on cover that slides in the cloth hole on the  back  and there should have  clamps that slide in latch  on the side panels in rear by the side windows.  you have to pull the latch back to lock it in

My windows do the same thing. Haven't gotten around to fixing them yet.

The guy I bought it from said it was the window motors.
