My female Shih Tzu has been pregnant and had puppies twice in her lifetime. The father was my male Yorkie. We could never get our dogs fixed because of the expense..so when ever my dog went into heat, we would keep them separated by keeping the male Yorkie in the garage with plenty of food & water, a bed and we would let him out alot in the backyard..however, one time he snuck into the house and might've gotten with my female Shih Tzu once again. Then eventually an accident happened, in the garage he became frusterated and tore open a bag of DE Powder for the pool, I knew something was wrong and I convinced my parents to take him to the vet, but unfortunately my 12 year old Yorkie died. I've been upset ever since, but lately my Shih Tzu looks pregnant, she isn't as big as she was the last 2 times she had puppies (each litter before had 5 pups) so I'm thinking she might only have 2-3. The other day she had morning sickness, she's definitely bigger, increased appetite and her nipples are longer and feel like they're filling up with milk..my male yorkie died June 12th, should I be expecting my female Shih Tzu to have puppies again soon of could this just be from being pregnant twice before which was like 2-3 years ago? I really need help with this, any information would be greatly appreciated because if she does have puppies, it'll be like my Yorkie sent down an angel so I wouldn't be so sad anymore. Please tell me everything you guys know, I'm 15 years old and live in New Jersey, I did however keep a puppy from my Shih Tzus first litter and let me tell you, Shih Tzu/Yorkshire Terriers are possibly the cutest mix ever. I call them ShihShires.
