tropical cyclones do not form very close to the equator becausethere are very hot winds there and they do not go there often because   htre are not very much wind there all the time and when there is it takes its chance to go into the tropical teritory of the equator.

Tropical cyclones do not often form near the equator because of the absence of a very important force for tropical development-the Coriolis Force. Around 5 degrees north and south of the equator, the Coriolis Force is too weak to give tropical cyclones their "spin" except under very unusual circumstances. Otherwise, the year-round warmth of the water would make this region have an everlasting hurricane season.

they won't form close to the equator because of the planets rotation force is to weak there and cannot initiate the inward spiralling of wind.
