im the uk you are supposed to be 16 with photo ID but it depends where you go cos someplaces dont really care

My friend was 15 when he got his...I'm in Jersey so they really don't care, but where ever u r they might not let u. I'm 15 and i'm about to get a tattoo and lip ring.

i am in sudbury ontario and i was 16 when i got my first lip done. so i am pretty sure you have to be 16 without a parental signature.

usually its 18 without a parental signature in a like highclass kind of piercing place. but if  you go to like philly or new york you go ask around they usually just pierce it if you have the cash. my brother who used to live up in north jersey went to new york with a bunch of friends and he got his tongue pierced. the parlor guy asked you got the cash? yup. pierced. done. out to enjoy nyc. philly they dont really care. respectable places have to have parents. but like non reptuable places dont.

well as far as scarring goes it depends on what kind of needle you use. that's why if you pierce your lip diy style with a sewing needle or a safety pin it will leave a small scar dot. but if you pierce it with a hollow needle like in syringes. it shouldnt leave a scar. you can buy em online really cheap or some at animal supply stores. even ask a tattoo/piercing parlor they might even sell some. taking care of it is like this

1. everytime you eat or drink either wash your mouth out with diluted mouth wash or brush your teeth.

2. at least 3 times you should rinse your mouth out with sea salt water. about 4 ounces of water in a cup and a quarter tea spoon of sea salt.

3. eating cold foods such as icecream and sucking on small ice cubes or shavings will help reduce swelling.

4. try not to smoke as it will sting your piercing.

5. get a standard labret or lip ring not a barbell or an old earring a real lip ring or labret. its designed so that the back end doesnt chip your teeth or wear down the enamel

Its actually a question- I really want my lip pierced.. im 14.. and my mom says no to everything.. i have my ears pierced and i want a cartalage piercing.. but w/e thats beside my point. i want my lip pierced.. and i need a way to get my parents to say YES.. plz help.

(my dad lives in england cuz i moved from there to the USA, and he said i can get my ear done.. but my mom would shoot me so i didnt... i was soo close tho.. and i want my lip pierced!!! PLEASE HELP!)

i know a place its in Burlington, WA. its called twisted underground. its by Fred myers. but you need a parent if your under 18.

Well..age really doesnt matter here..as long as a parental signs its alright...in 14. And i have my lip pierced on the left side..i got it about 2 weeks ago And it didnt hurt..it was totally narrly..i love the feeling of needles..so u kno in my opinion u dont need to be older to get piercings

Well I pierced my lip with a safty pin and
I was 14, i only had it in for about half a day, I just wanted to know How long the
swelling will last and what does it take to

In most places you have to be over 16, but it all depends on were u live, and if you are thinking about it go for it. Its your body and dont let ne one tell you what to do, go with it and get it. The lip put out an awsome result for a peircing!

i am 13 years old... i just pierced my own lip like 20 minutes ago.. i have wanted it forever and i just did it without asking.. my sister did her nose so i wanted to be different. i dont know what people are going to think of me at school. i would think of my self as a preppy/punk and no not one of those effin wanna bes. i need to know what to do.. help me.

i was 13 when i got my lip done for the first time, and 15 when i got 3 more and my tongue, 16 when i got the other 2 and yesterday i did one myself. my mum hated them all and said no to them all, it's the ancient art of getting it and surprising them. now I'm16 with 28 piercings and 4 tattoos and my mum just goes along with it and doesn't bother anymore, she actually likes some of my tattoos, so there you go. plus btw i went to reputable places that ask for ID, i just look a lot older.

I really want my lip peirced. I'm 14, and I live in new jersey. My parents are completely against it, but I AM getting it done, i just don't know how.

Is there any way of doing it myself? Some people say it's perfectly fine, others say its dangerous...so i dont know

Plus there's hiding it from my mom or dad who i see everyday.

This is a question....I have my lip pierced(by the way it didn't hurt a bit) everything is good wit it but it's red around it and there's a bump.  I have had it for a month or two.  Is it normal or what can I do about it?

    I'm 13 & i got my eyebrow pierced! In the parlor, i saw a baby getting it's tonge pierced! I'm going 2 get my lip pierced, but before i asked them if i could get it, i wanted to know how old u have 2 be to get it & they said u can be any age!

about the teeth question,my parents just spent 5000 dollars on my teeth so they asked the same thing lol,the guy says the metal is soft and it wont do any damage..i think my liprings infected tho lol

In most shops, they wont touch you unless your 16 or older.. And if youre under 18. You have to have a parent there..

I got mine done, and it really didnt hurt as bad as I thought it would. It didnt swell, or bruise. The worse part was when he put the ring in my lip..

Dont drink from straws. They may cause bleeding and more swelling to your lip.

Ask about sea salt cleaning and sprays. They work the best for ALL piercings.

I highly advise anyone not to do any piercing on their own. I paid 26 dollars for my lip, and got the cleaning stuff free because the guy was a friend of my brothers..

Mouth wash is a must after eating and drinking anything thats not water.

Make sure to move the jewlery around. But dont over play with it until its healed. * about 2 weeks. Sometimes longer.

Use common sense. No making out, no oral sex for the first two weeks.

Clean 3x a day with SEA SALT.

NO SMOKING.

In some cases, you may need to downsize in two weeks.. Or in some cases, Upgrade to a bigger ring. If the ring is to snug on your lip, you'll need an upgrade. If you downsize without talking to your piercer. The same thing can happen and the ring will be to snug..ASK FIRST.. I did not need to downsize mine.

Dont touch your ring with dirty hands. WASH FIRST. This is very important!!

Dont get in the habit of touching your piercing unless you are caring for it. ( cleaning it. )

And finally. Everyone always asks 'did that hurt?'. Well, of course it did. They shove a needle through youre lip. Its going to hurt. BUT it didnt hurt that bad.

i just right this minute pierced my own lip...so if u go to a place and they say no...grab a fat sewing needle...mouthwash...ambesol...gloves...ring...and go do it urself!! it doesnt hurt at all

There is no legal age for piercing in the UK, but certain piercers have their preference to the age they pierce you at. I know this because my dad is threatening to file a lawsuit against the man hu pierced my lip twice. (pathetic i know) but yeah the normal age is 16 that they ask for, but if u get parental consent then its another matter. XX XXX

question similar to Jessie's...anyone know of anywhere in wisconsin?  i think they have a law where you have to be over 18 or have parental permission, so i'm probably better off visiting my cousins or something in jersey and NY...other than that, anyone know of anywhere?

all of you minors on here that want all these peircings. think about it. if a place is sneaky enough to want to peirce someone illegally, do you think they do EVERYthing else legally? like, keep up with health standards?... be careful where you go, it might be best to wait just a feewww more years. if you get somethign like hepatitis, you have it forever, and all because you couldnt wait just a few more years to get that lip ring.

hey I'm 16...i want my lip pierced so bad... not only because my friends parents let them do wut ever they want  but because i think it looks awesome, and i know im mature enough to take care of it, i kno younger kids that have body piercings n their parents don't care, my boyfriends mom is goin to get her friend(a professional) to pierce my lip but i don't want my mom to flip... she got a little mad wen i was 13 n came home with my tongue pierced? will she flip out now that im older??

you should lean everything there is to kno. then deicide if u want a lip peircing. you could get infect or something bad like that, im just telling u to do your research and then make yure decision.

if your parents say no to your begging, then just do it yourself, im 14, ive done my lip myself 4times, and i just got it professionaly done yesterday, my parents still dont know. just get a flat and take the ball off

theres a parlor in bellingham called kalamalka but you need parental consent if youre under 18. thats where my sis, her gf, and i get our piercings.

my piercer suggested not to get lip rings because they cause your teeth to fall out. the rings wear down your gums and its not a matter whether or not its gonna happen cuz he said it will eventually happen, its just a matter of when it will happen and showed pictures and its sum nasty stuff. so if you can, dont get your lip pierced... get your eyebrow or nose or even your nipples or sumthin.

I live in the UK I got my lip pierced around 2 weeks ago, you need to be 16 with I.D. usually they dont accept parental signature, but the place I went to they just said "You 16?" then I got it pierced, nice and fast job done, little sting then pop it's in, it's the inconvenience of healing when you eat and sleep (lying on it) thats the only bad thing, but that starts to get better after oh say, 3 weeks, it takes 6-8 weeks to fully heal, and dont worry if you cant take the ring off, wait a few weeks before you try though :) hope this helped some people

If you live anywhere near manchester, go to afflecks and theyl do it for u. if not, some places say u gota be 16, some places say u gota be 18, you have to go in with partent/guardian if u wana get pierced underage sp if u just get someone to take u and say theyre ur big brother/sister, theyl do it for u... :-)

I have a question. I want to get my lip pierced with the three rings, but I don't know if I should get them all at once, or at different times. Also, I have braces so I don't know if it is a good idea or should I just. Oh, and my mom was going to let me get a piercing, but the day we were going to go, I was sick. And her and her boyfriend( who was going to take me) got into a fight and now she doesn'twant to let me get one. Does anyone know anyway that I can get her to say yes. Like a site that I can show her to let her know that it isn't that bad.

I've been wanting a lip piercing for about a year now and I just turned 15. I'm wondering if you can legally get your lip pierced at age 16 without needing your parents to say it's ok. My parents would never give in to it so I want to know if they can't do anything about it once I turn 16. I live in Washington state by the way. Please help me out if you know anything about this. Where I live you have to be at least 15 to get piercings....I got my lip done just 4 days ago, I'm 19 so I had no problem getting it done...

I am getting my lip pierced hopefully next weekend and I was wondering if it hurt at all? I have my eyebrow pierced, I'm just not that good with pain but I really want this done!! Later

In Washington, you must 16 with a parent's signature, and if you're any younger then you need to get a waiver signed or something. If you're 18, you're good to go.

if you don't have your parents permission, don't go against their wishes. If they're strict, they'll make you take it out, and it will be a waste of money and hey! a new scar. yay. just wait it out kids.

so take all the info that someone before me gave, it's very useful. I smoke but i wash my mouth out every time, it's just as important to clean it out as it is after you eat.
also. NO KISSING. for 2 months. at least. other's saliva will get that sucker infected like none other. trust me.

you shouldn't change it after you get it peirced. if you over irritate it, then it will become very sore and red.

you shouldn't over clean it either, that will also irritate it.

try youre very best NOT to use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. these kill the good and bad bacteria. you need to good bacteria for it to heal, duh.
oh and it also causes unwanted bumps, so don't use those.

i highly suggest "H2oxygen". it's a seasalt spray that gets rid of the scabbing and all that gross stuff. and cleans it rather well.

Well legaly without a permission and a physical you must be 16 or older but if you any age under 16 you need your one-year physical and your mom/dad to sign the sheet

if you want your parents to let you have a lip ring... take up smoking and say you'll quit when you get a lip ring...j/k dont do that... your parents will eat you. i wanted one and my mom wouldnt let me get one, so i iced my lip in the bathroom for 30 minutes... boiled the pin that i was piercing it with *it was a really big pin* and i put the ring in alcohol... when the 30 minutes was up... i took the ice off and held the pin and ring over the lighter... then i checked the area that i wanted to pierce... and i looked to make sure that there was no viens in the way... then i pierced, at first i didnt think that it would go through.... but i kept puching and it went, the good thing about my lip being froze, is that i didnt feel a thing... and my lip hasent gotten swolen or bled.

*but this is just what i did*

at some places they are willing to pierce your lip if you are willing to lie about your age.

I think in the UK it's legal to get your lip pierced without parents' consent at 16, and legal with parents' consent before that.

My mum has said I can get my lip pierced but my dad has said no, anyone know good way of convincing? Also does it leave a scar/ swelling on your lip? My mum also says it will leave a hole, so is that true? What are the risks  of infection?

If you want your mom to say yes, do what i did, and cry. i was already crying about this guy dying, and she was all..i wish i could make you happy, so i said, well..i really really want my lip pierced when i turn 14! she thought about it and said i could as long as i keep my grades up..which isn't a problem...so just keep asking and ask to do it for a bday or xmas present!

I wanted to get my lip pierced since I was 13, but I knew my father would force me to take it out. I didn't even research or look around to see who would pierce a minor. Well I turned 18 last summer, and I left for college (Georgia Tech in Atlanta). I decided to get it pierced and started reasearching places. I found a good one, had it done, and couldn't be happier.

I'm so glad I waited because I had mine done at an extremely reputable place, and they were very experienced. Some of my friends had piercings done at random tattoo places, and two of them had serious complications, and ended up having to remove the piercing, and go to the place I got mine.

Don't do it yourself. Don't go to a sketch place. If waiting is what it takes, wait. It is worth it.

well, i pierced my lip myself and it turned out fine...i used a regular sewing needle and it didn't leave a scar! unfortunately, i go to a private school..absolutely no piercings allowed..so i was forced to take it out before it fully healed...but, honestly..it doesn't hurt at all.

I just got my lip pierced today, as an 18th bday present, anyways, I got it done at a clean place in San Marcos Texas. Now I'm a whimp when it comes to pain, but it really didnt hurt. He just told me to breathe deeply twice and then the third time to hold my breath, then he pierced it. The only time there was any sort of pain or discomfort was when he broke the top skin through my lip and when he was trying to close it. Other than that it wasnt bad.

i pierced my own lip rwo weeks ago with a needle and i just stuck it in and put in an earing until i got a real one and it didnt get infected so if u hav the fukin balls to do it then go right ahead

to get my mom to say yes i just pretty much bugged her to death, but with little things. everytime she would look at me i would tug on my lip where i wanted to get it done but not say a word. tell her you will be really responsible and wash it and take care of it, and memorize what you have to do. then when she tells you it'll get infected (parents love to do that) rattle off the info. tell her that it's just a little hole, and at least you're being honest with her and telling her beforehand. at least you're not sneaking behind her back. and it isn't permanent like a tattoo!

Hey Rosie..I'm getting my lip done soon and I've convinced my mum to let me have it done by paying for it myself,telling her that I will be the one who has to go through any pain or risk of infection and if I regret it,I can't blame her and I am now cleaning up everyday for a week and if I do all the stuff on the sheet that has all the cleaning on that I'm doing,then she's letting me have it done.But anyway I think I'm going to book the piercing day on Monday or Tuesday. anyway bye bye

the girl who said she got her lip pierced at 13 sounds immature and idiotic. i'm15 and have wanted my lip pierced since i was 12. WAIT UNTIL YOU'RE ALLOWED TO! if i'vedone only one stupid thing, then it was to pierce my ears and my friends nose. it was idiotic.
i have the resources to get my hands on real and completely sterile autoclaved supplies, but just think of how an unwilling parent will react to it, chances are they'll make you take it out.

and any place that will pierce without parental consent is gonna be shady. well, the vast majority. unsterile, untrained. just generally bad.NOT REPUTABLE. WAIT UNTIL YOU'RE PARENTS ALLOW IT OR YOU'RE 18!

in most places you have 2 b 16 but in a shop i have been 2 after i did my lip myself they said they would have done it 4 me even tho i am only 13. so i guess you just have to look around or do it yourself i did and it didnt hurt but there are risks. xx

mi mom freaked when she saw that i pierced mi nose but after awhile she got use 2 it but then it almost got infected so i took it out and i haqve a lil red mark on mi nose but now im talking mi mom in 2 takeing me 2 get it pierced profesionally done but i really want a lip ring how do i get her 2 say yes????????? Its the tattoo/piercing places that you have to be 18 to get a piercing but if you can find a place that only does piercings then 16 is the legal age. And for you kids under 16 most piercing places and states have laws prohibiting you from getting a major body piercing, young bodys are still developing and growing and shoving a piece of metal in the mix can screw things up in the long run. Im not trying to so dont get a piercing, I have 18, but be considerate of your body and the responsibility that come along with a piercing.

I got my lip peirced 3 weeks ago... other then my dog punching me in the face twice and the microwave door flying back and hitting me directly on it its been fine.  You deff. should buy some sea salt and rinse ur mouth out with that at least 2- no more then 4 times a day.  nutrogina bar soap (its orange) works really good its facial soap so its easy on peircings.  smoking is a no no unless u clean it after your done. getting my Lip peirced, it hurt like hell but its worth it. i look great, and now my bf is jellous of other guys talking to me hahaha. get it done!! hint: a ring is best, plus while u clean it its best to turn it all the way around so it doesn't hurt as much.      ps. have fun with the swellin';)

Im 14 and i got my lip done last friday! its totally awesome and i love it. all u need to do is take a 20-80Mg zinc lozenge once a day clean it wth dial soap, neosporin and mouthwash 3 times a day or after you eat. and take Ibuprofin in the morning and at night and suck on crushed ice for swelling...Hope this helps...Later

My parents won't let me get my lip pierced so I'm thinking about just piercing it at home.  Would this be a good idea if I got all the things I need, like a piercing needle, labret, sterilzed pads and all the other stuff?  I've seen it where you can get them cheap and they look good.  What should I do? PLEASE HELP!!!

yeah, i actually have a question too...does anyone know of anyplace in Michigan that will do piercings on minors?? 'cause i'vebeen wanting to get my lip pierced for a while now && i'm 16, but i can't find a place that will do it.

I got my lip pierced two weeks ago in Vancouver, Canada. There are currently no restricted laws on the procedure in Canada relating to your age, but the shop I got it done required you to be sixteen or have parental consent.
The chick at the desk was pretty cool about it. I didn't have ID with me she was all "Uh.. so you were born in 1990..? That's about.. right.."

i am 13 and got my lip peirced in carlisle.most places i know don`t really care what age you are if you have permission but you have to have a parent with you to sign something.it didn`t`t hurt a bit,i just felt a little nip and it was done

Hey everyone! Today I got my lip pierced. I talked my mom into it by crying and begging lol.. I am 13 and I was terrified but I just clenched my coat and shut my eyes.. The guy that pierced it looked like a weirdo but it was fast and it only hurts when the needle goes in. On a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being the worst pain, I'd say it was probably a 3.5. Dont worry!! Of course you will worry, I did a lot too. But just calm down its almost painless and Im not lying! See for yourself!!

yo i justgot my lipring done..im being honest im a guy and it does pinch...but you should be fine if you take pretty good care ofit..if you dont take good care of it the your screwed...it get infected easyly for the first 2 weeks that you get it pierced , people say that after that you dont haveto carefor it anymore..thats NOT true..you should look after it for a good month or two..thanks for reading my log..take care:)

Lip Piercings. Legal age in USA: 18
UK: 16
and I'm guessing about 18 everywhere else.

I'm 13 and i got mine done a few months back.
I'm got 7 now.

With parental permission.

hey this si a question... Im 14 and live in Omaha Nebraska, if anyone knows anything about lipe piercing laws here or knows where i can get one done.. mabye in iowa as well since thats another state adn its liek a 5 minute drive. I can EASILY pass as 16... alot of ppl think i mgiht be 17 or 18 at times.. so if u know a place in Nebraska or Iowa that does minors or doesnt ask for I.D....i can get my parrents to come with and say that im 16 if since i dotn have i.d. saying im 16 since im 14... but please e-mail me at Sk8rdilla@yahoo.com if u have any answers thankyou

To Rosie ummm well my mom said no for like ever but i just went an stretched my ear behind her back (don't do that mind) but i just simply told her it was a tiny hole and can heal up within a matter of weeks if i decide i no longer want it. for me this worked but to be honest your mom isn't mine so can't really help just do some research with her and hope for the best.

Okay. I got my eyebrow pierced not so long ago so I'll have to wait at least a year before my mom even thinks of saying yes you another piercing (Thank god I don't have to ask my dad) but I'm planing on getting my lip done next. I was wondering does it hurt any more then getting your eyebrow done? Not that it's a final factor I still need to research more into taking care of it and such, but my mom likes to record me getting my piercings done so if I cry or something she has it on film.

I got mine done about a month ago and I'm 16 where i went in Arizona they just wanted my parent to go and sign a paper and signature and i had to sign it to i didnt even have to show my ID and it didnt really hurt with the needles it hurt cuz i got a smalled size and they had to pull it through OUCH but yeah i would recommend it just be sure you take care of it really well Use alcohol not peroxcide!

I don't know i want my lip pierced my mom says no but I'm going to get it done anyway I'm only 15 i may have to wait till I'm 16 i haven't called the place yet to see how old you have to be, but yeah i don't really have an answer for U. i would do it myself but i am too much of a damn chicken, friends to do it for me i don't know if i can trust them. but either way I'm getting it pierced, and i don't care who doesn't like it!

In FL if you go to a legit place you have to have your parent or guardian's signature, and some paper signed I forget what it's called. I'm waiting to get the monroe of my bottom lip pierced.

hiya i got my lip done today at body shock in wigan u.k it was the most terrible experience ive jst turned 16 and been wanting it to be done for a long time but with theway i got treated by the piercer id wait until i was 18 to get it done

and to rosie, im doing exactly the same with my mum, i was lucky enough to get my nape pierced and my mum only said i could get my lip done wen i was 16 and that i had to pay for it.

TIP FOR YOUR MUM ROSIE:
tell her that youll pay for it yourself,
also, my mum has a go at me because she thinks itll leave a scar, ever heard of concealer? lol

but thats just me and im one of those people thatll do it anyway even if my parents say no, so this may not be the best advice in the world, but meh, i tried :/ hehe

its not that hard to do it yourself, i just used #16 sewing needle from walmart and put it thru my lip in the spot i wanted, then put a ring in as i pulled the needle thru, its a little swollen but seems fine right now

if u wna d it ur self it u need a pin and a normal earin u fisrt jes let da needle throught i wont lie da last part hurts .. then u quickly put da earing ... after a day u have 2 put a labertvand it doesnt hurt

This answer is for Jessie, I know Lynnwood tattoo is good its about 1 hour away from bellingham, But I just got my lip pierced by Ralph (who happens to be my old college teacher!) And he did great! No pain no nothin, and he really takes you through the steps to keep it clean and safe.  =)
Good Luck, You'll love your new piercing!


Oh and for the person that wants a tattoo, I was 15 in WA with out my parents...And I regret it!  Wait until you have the picture that you want for a while...keep a copy at home, in your car, on your desk....just keep looking at it and see if you really like it..

like i have pierced my lip about 6 times now and every time i hide it from my mom by the way im 14 ne way she always catches me and makes me talke it out so finally i told her im going to have a ring and shes going to like it so now she taking me on the frist to get it professianaly pierced ha ha and shes paying so rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, If you do it yourself than the age does not matter. I did mine myself and the bad part was streching it to get it to the gage size that i wanted and that hurt worse than a mother! So DO NOT gage it! unless you can deal with the pain!

i got mine done about 3 months ago and it didnt hurt and all i used to clean it was antiseptic mouthwash 4 a week then nothing and mines just fine (Y)

but do you have to wash it after ever meal for the rest of the time you have it?
or is that just for the first month or so.

parents suck but don't get it done at a shifty place
a friend of mine did that and it messed up his mouth O_o

i honestly think you should wait to get your lip pierced because after a certain size it WILL leave a mark if you take it out. Plus it's kind of hard to get jobs unless you want to waiter or something.
