1990 Toyota 4runner gets approx 17-19mpg.
It's 3.0 v6 is not so good on gas. Also doesn't want to shift to 4th gear (over drive)when first started up in morning or afternoon. (no mater the temp.)

My 1993 4Runner has 197,000 miles but is in great condition - unfortunately it only gets about 11-12 mpg on average

It depends on the transmission, state of tune, and so forth.  I've seen low 20's on our '94 SR5 manual, but I've also seen it dip as low as 14MPG on the highway when doing 80 or so.

We seemed to pick up about 2MPG by switching to the K&N filter setup and yanking out the airbox in the process.
