I have a tcl script and I am trying to kill a process using command "kill" something like this

set result [kill <pid_of_process>]

I am getting error message saying "invalid command"

funny thing is that if i call "fork" command it is working fine but don;t know why "kill command is giving error msg.

does anyone know why it could be happening?.

thanks
amit

Try it as follow:

set result [exec kill <pid_of_process>]

"kill" is not a valid command of tcl/tk
