you have 2 find the right type of dog. like same hight and temperment. you dog might not like the dog you choose. they are quite fussy and may even spend sum time sniffing each other and saying hello before they mate. dont worry if they are tied for sometime, my dog was tied for 2 hours in the rain! good luck. from tiger

I don't know about the breeding part but Jacks can be timid at times, usually when people come into the house, that they don't know, or if they do something they know is wrong, or if they are yelled at. My Jack is timid if someone raises their voice, but he will take on the biggest meanest dog in town, and has no trouble letting every dog in town know...LOL...great dogs

My JRT female had her 1st litter last year at 3 years old.  We found someone who had a male and when she went into heat let them spend time together.  When the female is ready they take it from there all on their own.  Mine had 4 beautiful pups, 3 males and 1 female.  She'll be going into heat this June and we found a different JRT to mate her with.  We're trying for more color this time since the last litter was mostly white.  It was a wonderful experience and she had no problem letting us find homes for three of them.  We kept one of the males.
