I have a 2000 tundra 4.7 doc 126k miles. The idle is erratic and has dropped to about 350rpm
in gear with AC off and often cuts off.

Mine was doing that and I took it to a local garage and had the fuel system and injectors cleaned. It helped mine out.

Most commonly the problem is that you need to clean the throttle body. Pickup some throttle body cleaner then take off the throttle cover and remove the air intake hose from the body. Clean the butterfly valve and behind it as good as you can. You should also disconnect the negative battery terminal to allow the computer to reset itself otherwise the engine will idle quite high until the computer relearns the engine parameters.
