it depends where you get it.
an adult from a shelter would cost under $200..... a pup from a breeder $500-$2000.

You need to find a good breeder and make sure not to business with a guy that inbreeds for profit. Make sure about hip displacia warranties and such. It does depend on where you are located and if you want a leftover from the litter. What do you want it for??? conformation, protection...find a breeder that is reputable in whatever catagory you are looking for....

My rottweilers are from Ecuador, we were able to aquire them for free because we knew the breeder when they were extremely well bred pups. The others sold I believe between 1000-2500 not sure on that...

A good Rottweiler ( healthy body and mind) starts in good breeder $600. - $2500. It have to be registered because you will get contract - guaranteed ...and you can get a Rott as a pet or as a show conformation or obedience

PS`:Anyway, for any breed you are much better to get a dog from a serious breeder that is with a Club  ( those who goes in shows and test their dogs by a veterinarian ( OFA etc..) prior any breeding and those that are using and makes selection only good temperament ones...
no puppy mills or backyard breeders or what some say "family breeder" better to stay away from those they only want your money they don't care about the dog health and are no concerned about if the family where the dog is going he /she will be happy or not !!!!
