Ok. Here's the deal 2 cards Taniwha (mana cost 3UU, 7/7, with phasing and trample, and an ability that reads: At the beginning of your upkeep, all lands you control phase out.  AND Obliterate. Mana cost: 6RR can't be countered, and it destroys all artifacts, creatures and lands. They cant be regenerated. Its a sorcery. My question  is  can i somehow make this work? Saving my lands in the process :) kk, thats it.

As far as the most recent set of rules I have here tell me when a card "phases out" it's as good as out of the game. Then if all your lands are phased out (not in the game by the time the sorcery is cast) they're all safe from it's (Obliterate) effect.

Gronath is correct. While phased out, they are not in play. Obliterate only affects the in-play zone, and no other zones. However, there will be difficulty in casting the spell, as you cannot tap your lands for mana during the untap phase (when phasing occurs), and therefore you wouldn't be able to have the mana that way to cast the spell. Perhaps artifact based mana, such as a red mana battery?
