my yorkie has quite a curly coat ,he his cute but people keep telling me a true yorkie has to have straight hair is it true?

It is true that purebred yorkies are suppose to have straight silky coats.You might want to check out akc website, it will tell you all about the characteristics that yorkies have and what to look for. Im sure your yorkie is adourable.

No, it is not true...because I have a curly haired yorkie, they are not very common, but  thats natural curly hair for them... she is beautiful and recently gave birth to 5 boys who all have straight hair. Their daddy is a long haired yorkie. But I think the curly haired ones are extra speical :)

most yorkes have long straight hair but it is not unusallal for a yorkie to have curly hair so please do not get worried
